Trump Allegedly Warned Police About Epstein Associate Ghislaine Maxwell in 2006

Newly released FBI documents suggest that former President Donald Trump may have had more knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activity than he publicly acknowledged.

According to a Miami Herald report, a four-page memo buried in the Justice Department’s release of 3.5 million Epstein files recounts a conversation Trump allegedly had with Palm Beach police in July 2006.

During that discussion, Trump reportedly called attention to Epstein’s crimes, saying that “everyone knew” about the financier’s misconduct, and advised authorities to focus on Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, whom he described as “evil.”

What the FBI Memo Reveals

The FBI interview, conducted in October 2019, involved a subject whose name was redacted.

According to the Miami Herald, the subject is believed to be former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter, who led the Epstein investigation in the 2000s.

The memo reportedly details Trump recalling an incident when he “got the hell out of there” while Epstein was in the presence of teenagers.

He allegedly emphasized that Epstein’s misconduct was widely known in New York and that the Palm Beach Police Department should take action against Maxwell.

Trump also claimed he was among the first people to contact police once the Epstein investigation became public, reinforcing his position that he supported law enforcement intervention.

Maxwell’s Role and Legal Status

In the memo, Trump described Maxwell as Epstein’s “operative” and urged that investigators focus on her, labeling her as “evil.”

Maxwell remains the only person currently serving jail time in connection to Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes, having started a 20-year sentence in June 2022.

Her involvement continues to make headlines after she pleaded the fifth during a closed-door House Oversight Committee testimony earlier this week.

Trump, Epstein, and Mar-a-Lago

Trump and his wife Melania reportedly interacted with Epstein and Maxwell during the 1990s and early 2000s.

Emails released in the Epstein files even show Melania sending a friendly message signed “Love Melania” to Maxwell, underscoring the close social ties between the two couples.

According to the Miami Herald, Trump told police in 2006 that he had kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago, corroborating his repeated public claims that he removed Epstein from his club around 2007 for inappropriate behavior.

Epstein’s Controversial Plea Deal

Epstein’s criminal history includes a 2007 Florida state conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor, resulting in an 18-month prison sentence, of which he served 13 months with work release privileges.

Despite evidence of nearly 40 underage victims, prosecutors allowed the case to focus on just one 16-year-old girl, a decision widely criticized at the time.

The redacted FBI interviewee reportedly called the outcome “very disappointing,” noting the legal system’s failure to hold Epstein fully accountable.

Conflicting Statements

In July 2019, a month before Epstein’s death in custody, Trump told reporters he had no knowledge of Epstein committing sex crimes.

However, the new FBI memo suggests that Trump may have been aware of some of Epstein’s misconduct over a decade earlier.

The Justice Department, meanwhile, has stated it is unaware of any corroborating evidence that Trump personally contacted law enforcement at that time.

The White House declined to comment.

What’s next?

The release of these FBI memos could lead to renewed scrutiny of Trump’s interactions with Epstein and Maxwell, particularly regarding what he knew and when.

Congressional committees, journalists, and legal analysts may examine the documents for additional context about the 2006 investigation.

Meanwhile, questions remain about Epstein’s plea deal and the legal system’s handling of his numerous victims, which could influence ongoing discussions about accountability for those connected to his network.

Summary

FBI documents suggest Donald Trump told Palm Beach police in 2006 that everyone knew about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and urged investigators to focus on Ghislaine Maxwell, whom he described as “evil.”

The memo, part of the Justice Department’s 3.5 million-file release, raises questions about what Trump knew and when, contrasting with his 2019 public claims of ignorance.

Maxwell remains the only living person serving time related to Epstein’s crimes, highlighting ongoing legal and public scrutiny.
