Josh Allen suffers suspected broken nose as Buffalo Bills battle New York Jets at MetLife Stadium

The Buffalo Bills had a tense moment on Sunday when star quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen had to leave the field early against the New York Jets.

What looked like a routine run turned into a frightening scene after Allen took a heavy hit and appeared to suffer a nasty nose injury.

The Play That Sparked Concern

The incident happened in the first quarter at MetLife Stadium.

Allen was pushing forward for a first down when Jets defender Jowon Briggs brought him down.

In the collision, Allen’s face slammed straight into the back of teammate O’Cyrus Torrence.

The quarterback immediately grabbed at his face and made his way off the field.

Quick Medical Attention on the Sidelines

Once on the sidelines, medics rushed to Allen. CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson explained live that Allen was “bleeding profusely” and needed immediate care.

Doctors surrounded him, eventually inserting cotton into his nostril to slow the bleeding.

Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky briefly stepped in while the Bills assessed the situation.

Fans React to the Scary Scene

It didn’t take long for social media to light up with speculation.

Many fans were convinced Allen had broken his nose, with some joking about how quickly he wanted it reset.

One fan wrote: “Josh Allen just 100 per cent broke his nose and immediately asked for them to snap it back straight. Football guy.”

Others poked fun at CBS analyst Tony Romo for stirring panic, with one fan noting: “Tony Romo trying to make all of western New York hyperventilate by insisting something is seriously wrong with Josh Allen after he gets popped in the nose.”

Back in the Game with a Plugged Nose

Fortunately for Bills fans, the scare didn’t last long.

After missing just a few plays, Allen returned to the game with a visible nose plug to stop the bleeding. Despite the brief interruption, the Bills maintained control of the matchup, leading 10–0 against the Jets at that stage.

Looking Ahead for Buffalo

While the official confirmation of the injury is still pending, Allen’s quick return to the field reassured fans and teammates alike.

For a team carrying Super Bowl expectations, keeping their MVP quarterback healthy is priority number one.

The Bills will now hope the incident was nothing more than a painful, but minor, setback.
