What was meant to be a simple trip for a Slurpee in Canada turned into one of the strangest police stops of the year.
Instead of hopping in a regular car, Kasper Lincoln chose to ride down the road in his roommate’s daughter’s pink Barbie jeep — and it didn’t take long before flashing police lights were behind him.
The Pink Jeep Joyride
Lincoln admitted he “got lazy” and decided the toy car would do for the quick outing, while his friend walked alongside.
Witnesses snapped photos of him cruising along a busy street and even in a closed construction lane.
Those images quickly went viral online, with many amused by the bizarre scene.
The Police Stop
According to Lincoln, an unmarked police car rolled up beside him and the officer casually asked him to pull over.
“I was just smiling the whole time,” he recalled.
But the situation soon turned serious when the Royal Canadian Mounted Police discovered that Lincoln had a suspended license — and was allegedly over the legal alcohol limit after taking two breath tests.
Arrest and Charges
Lincoln was arrested on the spot. The RCMP confirmed he was facing a prohibited driving charge along with a 90-day driving ban.
His case will head to court in December.
Despite the trouble, Lincoln kept a surprisingly upbeat attitude, joking with some officers at the station, though the arresting officers remained stern.
Reactions From Witnesses
People who saw the incident couldn’t believe it had escalated to police involvement.
“He didn’t look like he was speeding to me,” said one bystander, while another admitted it was surreal watching a toy jeep pulled over with flashing lights.
On Reddit, users had a field day, with one quipping: “Please tell me his name is Ken.”
Why the RCMP Took It Seriously
Though the spectacle seemed lighthearted to onlookers, police explained their decision.
Driving an uninsured vehicle, especially while intoxicated, can still pose risks to both the driver and other road users — even at five miles per hour.
Staff Sgt. Kris Clark noted that combined violations like this are enough to justify an arrest.
Lincoln’s Takeaway
Lincoln insisted he didn’t realize he was breaking the law since he was using hand signals during the ride.
Still, he admitted one key lesson: “Don’t drink and drive.”
The Toy Behind the Trouble
The Barbie Power Wheels jeep Lincoln was riding is designed for children ages three to seven, holds up to 130 pounds, and maxes out at just five miles per hour.
Despite its toy status, it ended up at the center of one of the quirkiest drunk-driving cases Canada has seen.
