Charlize Theron Reports BMW Stolen From Her Los Angeles Home Amid Growing Celebrity Crime Wave

Los Angeles crime strikes again, and this time it hit Charlize Theron.

The Oscar-winning actress, 50, reportedly had her car stolen right from her property earlier this week, adding her name to the growing list of Hollywood victims.

Sources told NBC4 Investigates that the theft happened on Thursday after someone entered Theron’s home through an open gate.

The suspect made off with a BMW, which still had the key fob inside at the time.

Fortunately, the LAPD was able to track the vehicle during their search for the culprit.

Theron’s representatives have yet to comment on the incident.

Hollywood Celebrities Feeling the Pinch of L.A. Crime

Theron is not alone. The city’s crime wave has been targeting high-profile residents, with stars like Tracee Ellis Ross and Brad Pitt also recently affected.

These break-ins highlight an unsettling trend in Los Angeles, where even the most famous are not immune.

Just a week before the theft, Theron had enjoyed a rare outing with her eldest child, Jackson, 12, at Disneyland.

She brought along some of Jackson’s close friends, and the group was seen enjoying rides and snacks throughout the park.

Theron adopted Jackson in 2012 and welcomed another child, August, nine, in 2015.

Tracee Ellis Ross Becomes a Victim

Earlier this month, Tracee Ellis Ross faced her own burglary nightmare.

Thieves stole over $100,000 worth of jewelry and handbags from her Los Angeles home on September 2.

According to KNBC, the actress wasn’t home at the time, and the intrusion occurred around 12:30 a.m., discovered by staff arriving on the property.

Police reports indicate that three individuals entered Ross’s home through a glass door.

Security camera footage has been obtained, and the investigation is ongoing.

Ross, daughter of Motown legend Diana Ross, is no stranger to the spotlight, having earned multiple NAACP Image Awards and a Golden Globe for her role on Black-ish.

Lionel Richie’s Close Call

The crime wave extends beyond actors. Lionel Richie, 76, had a recent brush with burglary at his Beverly Hills home.

Unlike many other break-ins, Richie was home at the time. Thanks to a security alarm, the intruder fled before stealing any valuables.

Police later arrested a man named Michael John Bond on suspicion of residential burglary, though formal charges have yet to be filed.

Rising Concerns Over L.A. Residential Security

These incidents underscore the growing concerns for Hollywood’s elite, as the line between fame and vulnerability becomes increasingly blurred.

With celebrities targeted even when at home, security measures and vigilance are becoming more critical than ever.
