Secret Service agent Anthony Pough faces calls to be fired after posting about Charlie Kirk’s assassination in Utah

The U.S. Secret Service is under the spotlight after one of its agents, Anthony Pough, made a series of shocking social media posts following the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

The 36-year-old from Royersford, Pennsylvania, called Kirk’s death “karma” in a now-deleted Facebook post, igniting widespread calls for his dismissal.

Facebook Post Sparks Outrage

In the post, first reported by RealClearPolitics, Pough wrote, “If you are Mourning [sic] this guy… delete me.

He spewed hate and racism on his show.”

He also drew attention to a tragic school shooting in Colorado, saying, “Especially when we should be mourning the innocent children killed in Colorado,” referencing the Evergreen High School incident near Denver that occurred on the same day as Kirk’s death.

Two students were injured when 16-year-old Desmond Holly opened fire before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Pough added, “At the end of the day, you answer to GOD and speak things into existence.

You can only circumvent karma, she doesn’t leave.”

Alongside these remarks, Pough shared a clip of Kirk making controversial comments about high-profile Black figures, including journalist Joy Reid, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, claiming they were “affirmative action picks.”

Secret Service Responds

The agency quickly placed Pough on administrative leave.

“The US Secret Service will not tolerate behavior that violates our code of conduct,” a spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

Tennessee Senator Martha Blackburn has since called for Pough to be fired immediately, writing to Secret Service Director Sean Curran that celebrating a political assassination is “inexcusable.”

She criticized the agency for harboring “political actors” and urged reforms to ensure accountability.

Details of Charlie Kirk’s Tragic Death

Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot while speaking in front of roughly 3,000 people at Utah Valley University in Orem.

The shot came from the roof of the Losee Center, about 200 yards away.

Kirk was struck in the neck and collapsed in his chair, later dying at a nearby hospital.

Suspect Tyler Robinson was apprehended the following night in southern Utah.

Governor Spencer Cox explained that Robinson’s family had contacted authorities after learning he had made confessions about the attack.

Investigators noted that Robinson had recently become more politically active and expressed disdain for Kirk, calling him “full of hate.”

Evidence and Legal Consequences

Authorities found the weapon used to kill Kirk had casings engraved with anti-fascist messages, including references to the Italian protest song Bella Ciao and phrases mocking fascists.

The manhunt lasted over a day and a half, with a $100,000 reward offered for information leading to Robinson’s arrest.

If convicted, Robinson could face the death penalty.
