Andy Cohen reveals how he used a weight loss drug to achieve a slimmer physique during summer while sharing his health journey on Sirius XM in the United States

Fans of Watch What Happens Live may have noticed that Andy Cohen looks noticeably trimmer these days.

On his Sirius XM show this week, the 57-year-old media mogul finally revealed how he achieved his summer transformation: he used a weight loss drug—but in a very specific, controlled way.

Trying Something New for Health and Confidence

Cohen admitted he was “really unhappy” with his weight and had been discussing options with his doctor for a while.

“Last year, my doctor recommended a GLP-1 medication, not just for weight, but to help with plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure,” he explained.

Although initially hesitant, he eventually decided to give it a try, discovering benefits beyond what he expected.

What Micro-Dosing Means for Andy

Instead of taking the full dose, Cohen chose to “micro-dose,” meaning he took smaller amounts than normally prescribed.

This approach allowed him to avoid some of the more unpleasant side effects—like nausea, bloating, and diarrhea—while still seeing results.

He admitted it helped him control his appetite and cut down on cravings.

Tackling Cravings on Set

The Bravo star described the challenges of working in an environment surrounded by tempting snacks.

“I’d have a drink, then there’s cookies, pasta nights, pizza nights… all this food,” he laughed.

Using the medication helped curb those cravings, forcing him to be more disciplined with both diet and workouts.

Redefining Fitness and Routine

Cohen didn’t just rely on the medication.

He paired it with a consistent workout routine, including lifting heavier weights and paying closer attention to his meals.

“No snacking or excess drinking. I’m still enjoying drinks, but not in excess, and I’m avoiding the cravings that usually follow,” he said.

The Cost and the Care

Acknowledging his privilege, Cohen noted that his insurance helped cover part of the cost.

Drugs like Ozempic or Wegovy can run up to $1,200 per month without coverage.

“This is a revolutionary drug,” he said.

“I’m so grateful to do this under a doctor’s care and alongside a trainer to make sure I was doing it right.”

A New Perspective on Food

After reaching his weight goal, Cohen stopped taking the medication, and his appetite gradually returned.

But he believes the experience helped him rethink his relationship with food.

“Before this, my eating habits weren’t great. Now, I feel more in control,” he admitted.

Being Honest With His Fans

For Cohen, sharing his journey felt natural. “It would be hypocritical not to share,” he said.

After asking others about their weight loss stories for years, it felt right to open up about his own transformation—especially after losing around 25 pounds.

Looking Ahead

While he’s not currently on the drug, Cohen seems focused on maintaining his healthier habits and enjoying the benefits of his summer transformation.

Fans are left curious: what’s next for the Bravo star’s health and fitness journey?
