Matt LeBlanc, the beloved but famously private Friends star, stepped out for a rare public outing in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Known for keeping a low profile in recent years, the actor looked surprisingly casual compared to the polished persona fans saw in his latest Super Bowl ad.
From Glossy Commercials to Joggers and a Cap
LeBlanc is making a splash in the spotlight again thanks to a brand-new Dunkin’ Donuts commercial.
The ad features a star-studded reunion with Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston and Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander, alongside Dunkin’ superfan Ben Affleck.
But while the commercial shows him with a sharp black button-down shirt and perfectly styled silver hair, in real life, LeBlanc went for comfort.
He donned a V-neck T-shirt, joggers, and a cap as he stopped by a gas station convenience store—far from the glossy appearance of his Super Bowl-ready look.
A Hilarious Throwback With Ben Affleck
The teaser for the commercial shows Affleck, 53, presenting an unaired pilot from 1995 to the trio.
Labeled “Network Pilot ’95 v3,” the clip captures the stars’ reactions as Affleck cheerfully asks for feedback.
“Reactions, thoughts, love? Affection?” Affleck asks.
Aniston shakes her head while Affleck jokes about “monster cringe” moments.
Jason Alexander, clearly baffled, mutters to the others, “I don’t think he directed Argo,” referencing Affleck’s Oscar-winning film.
LeBlanc’s response is refreshingly enthusiastic. “Can I get a copy?” he asks.
Aniston warns, “No one can see this,” to which Affleck reassures, “It’s only going to air once.”
LeBlanc beams, “Still holds up!”—prompting an exasperated but amused Aniston to sigh, “Oh God, Matthew.”
Taking a Step Back From Hollywood
This commercial marks a rare return to the screen for LeBlanc, who has largely stepped away from acting in recent years.
After the Friends HBO reunion special in 2021, he decided to “take some time off,” even venturing into running a car dealership.
LeBlanc’s last regular TV role was as Adam Burns on CBS’s Man with a Plan, which ran from 2016 to 2020.
Since then, he has largely stayed out of the Hollywood spotlight, making this Super Bowl spot a notable exception.
Friends Cast Reunion Memories
In 2024, LeBlanc’s Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow shared that the main cast—herself, Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, LeBlanc, and the late Matthew Perry—had only met once in the 17 years between the series ending in 2004 and their 2021 reunion.
“We’d only had dinner, the six of us, once before since the show ended,” Kudrow admitted on the Dinner’s on Me podcast.
Despite the long gap, the cast reportedly picked up right where they left off, enjoying an easy and familiar evening together.
Friends’ Enduring Legacy
Friends remains one of television’s most successful sitcoms, earning 62 Emmy nominations during its ten-season run.
The show won six, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2002.
Both Aniston and Kudrow were recognized with individual acting awards for their portrayals of Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay, cementing their place in pop culture history.
With this latest commercial, fans can catch LeBlanc once again on screen, blending nostalgia, humor, and a dash of 90s charm.
