Florence Pugh swapped the red carpet for family celebrations as she partied until 4 a.m. at her brother Toby Sebastian’s extravagant wedding in Spain on Saturday.
The Black Widow star, 29, shared sun-soaked moments from the festivities on her Instagram Stories, capturing the joyful day as Game of Thrones actor Toby, 33, married long-term partner Scarlet Alexandra.
A Family Connection to Spain
Spain holds a special place in the Pugh family’s history.
When Florence was young, doctors advised the family to relocate there due to her diagnosis of Tracheomalacia, a condition that softens the windpipe and can make breathing difficult.
The warm climate helped ease her symptoms.
The family later returned to Oxford, but Spain remained an important backdrop for the siblings.
Stunning Looks and Musical Surprises
Florence turned heads in a flowing red maxi dress as she and her sister Rafaela performed a musical tribute for the newlyweds.
Toby looked sharp in a navy suit with a white shirt and pink tie, while bride Scarlet, 32, dazzled in a backless ivory gown adorned with pearls and a dramatic veil.
Florence couldn’t resist sharing a celebratory post saying, “They got hitched!” along with a sweet snap of Rafaela fanning the groom in the Mediterranean heat, joking, “Brothers always need their little sisters to fan them on their wedding day!”
Dancing the Night Away
Toby shared his own snapshots of the family enjoying the dance floor and gushed about his bride: “What a weekend.
What a wedding. There aren’t many people in the world I would stay up partying until 4 a.m. for.”
The celebration stretched across the weekend, with the couple’s first dance under twinkling fairy lights and glittering disco balls before the festivities carried on into the early hours.
Spotlight on the Bride
Scarlet, originally from Andalucia, studied design in London and later worked as an interior designer before founding her illustration business, Sax Doodle, which focuses on cityscape prints.
The couple shared family moments from the wedding, including a photo of Toby with their mother, Deborah Mackin, who looked elegant in a white suit with a blue scarf, and their father, Clinton Pugh, who raised Florence, Toby, and their siblings Arabella and Rafaela in Oxford.
Florence Opens Up About Her Childhood Condition
Florence has previously spoken about her early struggles with Tracheomalacia and asthma.
On Running Wild With Bear Grylls, she revealed that doctors recommended moving to a warmer climate to aid her breathing: “I have asthma and I have this thing called tracheomalacia as well.
And so from a young age, I’ve just had a different breathing system.”
Tracheomalacia occurs when the cartilage in the windpipe is soft, causing the airway to collapse and making breathing difficult, particularly during exhalation or coughing.
Toby Sebastian Ventures into Songwriting
Outside of the wedding celebrations, Toby has been busy exploring a new creative avenue.
He recently launched private songwriting sessions, offering aspiring musicians 90-minute lessons for £150, or four-session packages for £500.
Participants need to play piano or guitar, but can range from beginners to more experienced players.
Toby, who has over 50,000 monthly Spotify listeners and two studio albums, previously collaborated with Florence on the 2021 track Midnight, featuring her on backing vocals.
Family Challenges Amid Career Success
The Pugh family has faced its share of challenges.
Last year, their father, restaurateur Clinton Pugh, revealed he had to sell Cafe Coco in Oxford following disputes over local traffic and environmental policies.
He blamed road closures and parking reductions for forcing him to close the iconic café, despite support from family and the community.
Understanding Tracheomalacia
Tracheomalacia is a condition where the cartilage in the airways is weakened, potentially affecting the trachea and bronchi.
It can cause the airway to collapse, especially when exhaling or coughing, leading to difficulty breathing.
While often diagnosed in children, it can appear in adults due to other health conditions or chronic irritation from asthma or COPD.
