Former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has put to rest circulating social media claims suggesting he might defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking during the ongoing APC re-registration exercise in his ward, Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre Local Government Area, Nwosu reassured supporters that his political allegiance remains firmly with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Revalidating Membership and Commitment
On Sunday, Nwosu formally revalidated his APC membership in front of party faithful and community residents.
Addressing the gathering, he described himself as a founding member of the party, emphasizing that he has no plans to abandon a political house he helped build from the ground up.
“I remain a committed member of the All Progressives Congress.
I will not abandon a house I helped to build.
I have no plan to defect to the African Democratic Congress,” he said, dismissing the rumors directly and confidently.
Support from Key Party Figures
Nwosu also highlighted that former Imo State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha and members of the Rescue Mission team remain steadfast in their APC affiliation.
By publicly aligning with the party’s leadership, Nwosu sent a clear message that his political future is intertwined with the APC’s trajectory.
Encouraging Civic Participation
The former governorship candidate urged his supporters and local residents to participate fully in the APC’s registration process.
He stressed that political engagement, from the grassroots level to federal governance, is vital for shaping the state’s and nation’s future.
“Register en masse and support the party at every level.
Civic participation is the backbone of democracy, and our voices matter,” Nwosu said, appealing for active involvement from the community.
Community Leaders and Stakeholders in Attendance
The revalidation event drew significant attention from local political and community figures.
Present at the occasion were the ward chairman and executives, the ward councillor, the President General of Eziama Obaire, and the Director General of the Ugwumba Movement, alongside its executives.
Traditional authorities were also represented, including the Eze-Elect of Eziama Obaire and former executive chairmen from Nkwerre, Orsu, and Isu Local Government Areas.
Their presence underscored the importance of the exercise and reflected broad support for Nwosu and the APC at the community level.
Engaging the Youth and Future Leaders
Nwosu also took time to address the youth, encouraging them to see politics not just as a career but as a tool for societal change.
His message resonated with the crowd, emphasizing that political awareness and grassroots activism are essential for building a strong, participatory democracy.
By publicly reaffirming his commitment to the APC, Uche Nwosu has sought to quash rumors, strengthen party unity, and motivate citizens to take part in shaping the political future of Imo State.
