In a shocking revelation from the latest tranche of documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the King’s 65-year-old brother, sent personal photos of his daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein during the Christmas seasons of 2011 and 2012.
The emails, which were sent years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring a child for prostitution, included intimate snapshots of the sisters at ages 21-24.
These releases form part of more than three million documents tied to the disgraced financier, highlighting yet another layer of controversy surrounding Andrew and his family.
Inside the Christmas Emails
The first email, dated December 21, 2011, was sent from Andrew’s official royal account.
It contained photos of the princesses posing in the snow at the Royal Lodge.
Beatrice wore a silver Christmas cracker hat and earmuffs, while Eugenie was wrapped in a fur hat and scarf.
Other images on the card featured a snow-covered Royal Lodge and a canoe scene, likely including Andrew himself.
The email carried a festive message wishing Epstein joy and happiness for the coming year.
A second email arrived almost exactly a year later, on December 20, 2012, showing the princesses engaged in charitable activities.
Beatrice was photographed climbing Mont Blanc, hand on her hip, while Eugenie participated in a London charity bike ride, raising £9,000 for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and MCC Foundation projects.
The card also included pictures of Andrew abseiling down The Shard and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson walking across Canada’s Great Slave Lake.
The Princesses Face Difficult Times
Royal experts are calling this period a “trying time” for Eugenie and Beatrice.
Jennie Murray, a commentator on royal affairs, explained that the sisters are caught in a delicate position: trying to protect their reputations while also feeling loyalty to their parents.
Publicly, both have kept their distance from Andrew and Sarah Ferguson since the Epstein files began to surface at the end of 2025.
Eugenie, 35, a prominent anti-slavery campaigner, has been particularly vocal about her discomfort with her father’s refusal to apologize to Epstein’s victims.
Beatrice, 37, has taken a slightly more nuanced approach, maintaining some contact with her parents, including visits to Andrew in Windsor and attending family events.
Struggles With Family Dynamics
The princesses’ complicated feelings are reflected in recent events.
Beatrice invited Andrew to her daughter Athena’s christening last month, which Eugenie also attended, but it remains unclear if the father-daughter interactions were meaningful.
Beatrice has been seen riding horses with Andrew and spending time with him at Royal Lodge, even as the couple faces eviction from the property.
Despite Andrew and Sarah losing titles and royal privileges last October, their daughters retained theirs and continue to participate in family events like the traditional royal Christmas at Sandringham—an occasion from which Andrew was notably absent.
More Revelations from the Epstein Files
The document dump included further troubling details about Andrew’s continued associations with Epstein and his circle, including Ghislaine Maxwell.
Emails show affectionate exchanges between Andrew and Maxwell, hinting at an unusually close relationship.
The files also revealed Andrew inviting Epstein to dinner at Buckingham Palace just days after Epstein’s house arrest ended, promising “lots of privacy.”
Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, had also facilitated introductions and interactions with Andrew and Sarah.
Other high-profile figures, including Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, and even Melania Trump, appear in correspondence with Maxwell.
The Broader Royal Fallout
The latest documents underscore how Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have become increasingly isolated from senior royals, including the King, Queen, and Prince William.
While Eugenie and Beatrice remain under public scrutiny, their concern for their parents mental health has kept them involved to some extent, supported by other family members like Princess Anne and Prince Edward.
This continuing saga places the royal family under intense scrutiny, as the repercussions of past associations ripple into the present, affecting not just Andrew and Sarah but their adult daughters navigating their own public and private lives.
