Life after losing a partner is never simple, but for Sharon Osbourne, the decision about where to spend her future feels almost impossible.
After 43 years of marriage to Ozzy, she now finds herself grieving alone in the UK, while her children and grandchildren are thousands of miles away in Los Angeles.
Honoring Ozzy’s Final Wish
When Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July following his long struggle with Parkinson’s, Sharon kept her promise to him.
The Black Sabbath legend had always been clear about his wish — he wanted to be buried beneath a crabapple tree in the garden of their Buckinghamshire estate.
It was a request he made in his 2009 autobiography I Am Ozzy and repeated to Sharon many times: no cremation, just a quiet resting place under a fruit tree.
True to her word, Sharon ensured that his final wish was fulfilled.
Ozzy now rests in the grounds of Welders House, their Grade II-listed Georgian home in the village of Jordans.
A Family Pulled in Different Directions
But while Ozzy remains in the English countryside, the Osbourne children — Aimee, Kelly, and Jack — have returned to Los Angeles with their own families.
Sharon, 72, is especially close to her grandchildren, including Jack’s four daughters and Kelly’s little boy, Sidney.
The separation has left her feeling painfully alone, torn between staying in the UK near Ozzy’s grave or returning to California to be surrounded by her loved ones.
A close friend summed up her struggle: “She is heartbroken, lonely, and devastated.
She can’t split herself in half, but her love for Ozzy is keeping her in England, even while her family is in America.”
A House Built for Care That Came Too Late
The Buckinghamshire mansion was lovingly transformed by Sharon to make Ozzy’s final years more comfortable.
She added a rehabilitation wing, a nurse’s flat, a health and wellness studio, and even upgraded privacy measures so he could recover in peace. But sadly, much of it went unused.
Their original plan was to document their return to England in a ten-part reality series called Home to Roost.
Yet Ozzy’s health prevented the project from fully coming to life.
He managed one last emotional reunion concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham before passing away on July 22 at home — exactly how he wanted it.
A Funeral Fit for a Rock Icon
Fans lined the streets of Birmingham to say goodbye as Ozzy’s hearse passed through.
His private burial in Buckinghamshire was attended by his family and rock royalty, marking the end of an extraordinary life.
The official cause of death listed several conditions — cardiac arrest, heart disease, and complications from Parkinson’s — but for his loved ones, it was the suddenness that stung the most.
Just days earlier, he had finished an updated autobiography, which will now be published posthumously.
Sharon’s Own Struggles
As Sharon navigates her grief, friends have raised concerns about her health.
In recent years, she lost a dramatic amount of weight using the controversial drug Ozempic, leaving her frail and underweight.
Those closest to her worry that the grief is compounding her physical struggles.
“She’s as tough as they come,” said one friend, “but she’s very thin, and when you’re grieving, you tend not to eat. It’s worrying.”
A Divided Family
Even before Ozzy’s passing, there were tensions about moving back to the UK.
While Kelly and Aimee supported their father’s wish, Jack openly voiced doubts, saying the move would leave them isolated from their grandchildren.
Looking back, friends say Jack’s concerns proved right.
A Life Waiting in Los Angeles
What makes Sharon’s decision even harder is that their Los Angeles home remains on the market.
A phone call and a plane ticket could allow her to return to the familiar life she built over two decades — the same city where The Osbournes reality show first made the family a household name.
Yet leaving Ozzy behind in England feels unthinkable.
For Sharon, every choice is a tug-of-war between love for her late husband and love for her living family.
What’s Next for Sharon?
The days ahead won’t be easy. Sharon must choose between staying by Ozzy’s side in Buckinghamshire or reuniting with her children and grandchildren in Los Angeles.
As her birthday approaches, friends hope she’ll find comfort with family rather than spend it alone.
For now, she stands at a heartbreaking crossroads — bound by devotion to Ozzy, yet pulled by the deep love of the family waiting for her across the Atlantic.
