Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro arrive in Venice for film festival premiere as they share affectionate moments on red carpet

The Venice International Film Festival welcomed stars from around the globe on Friday, and Andrew Garfield was among them, arriving hand-in-hand with American actress Monica Barbaro.

The couple’s casual yet stylish appearance turned heads as they made their way into Italy’s iconic festival.

Casual Chic on the Red Carpet

Andrew, 41, opted for a relaxed look, wearing a pale blue open-collar shirt tucked into navy trousers.

He added a touch of flair with blue and brown Dior skate shoes and carried a pale blue denim jacket, while finishing the outfit with black sunglasses.

Monica, 35, kept it understated in a green leather jacket, black trousers, and simple black ballet pumps.

Together, they blended comfort with effortless red carpet style, proving that chic doesn’t always have to mean formal.

A Public Display of Romance

The couple, first linked in January at W Magazine’s Best Performances party in Los Angeles, were seen openly affectionate at the festival.

Sources reported they spent time moving between the VIP area and the main farm, holding hands, hugging, and even sharing kisses while enjoying Gracie Abrams’ live set.

“On Friday she was taking pictures in the VIP area, and he stood proudly a little distance away,” said an onlooker.

“By Saturday, they were holding hands and cuddling. They both seemed really happy.”

Moving On From Past Relationships

Andrew’s romance with Monica comes after his split from Dr Kate Tomas, a self-described “professional witch,” which she confirmed on social media earlier this year.

Kate, whose clients include Lena Dunham and Megan Mullally, emphasized that their breakup happened months ago and denied that magic played any part in their relationship.

“It’s not about magic spells or manipulation,” she told The Sunday Times and on her podcast.

“People who are truly attractive exude charisma because they are authentic and confident, not because of any tricks.”

Andrew’s Past Loves

Andrew has previously dated a number of high-profile women, including Emma Stone, Shannon Woodward, Rita Ora, Susie Abromeit, Christine Gabel, and Alyssa Miller.

Despite the public interest, he has long insisted on keeping his private life private.

“I’m not in the public eye to a great degree because I’ve designed it that way,” Andrew told Bustle in 2021.

“I fight for my right for a private, personal life.

My right to be ordinary. My right to be a mess. My right to be sorrowful. My right to lose, to get it wrong, to be stupid, to be a person.”

Earlier this month, he reiterated to Esquire: “I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.”

Venice Festival Marks a New Chapter

For Andrew and Monica, the Venice Festival seemed like the perfect backdrop to enjoy some quiet time together amid the buzz of the red carpet.

Between Andrew’s relaxed style, Monica’s understated elegance, and their open display of affection, it was clear the couple is comfortably settling into life as one of Hollywood’s newest pairs.
