In the world of football and high-profile relationships, sometimes love comes with its fair share of drama.
That seems to be the case for Andy Carroll, the 36-year-old footballer, whose relationship with make-up artist Lou Teasdale, 41, has been on a turbulent rollercoaster recently.
A Split That Didn’t Last
Earlier this month, reports claimed the couple had split after a series of arguments, with sources suggesting Andy grew frustrated with what they described as Lou’s “high-maintenance” behaviour. However, the break didn’t last long.
This week, the pair put on a united front, jetting off to Ibiza for a romantic getaway and sharing joyful snaps from their trip on Instagram.
Club Warnings and Defiance
Their holiday, though, hasn’t gone unnoticed by Andy’s club Dagenham & Redbridge.
Sources say manager Lee Bradbury had a conversation with the footballer, warning him to tone down his public romance with Lou, as it “attracts unwanted attention.”
A source told The Sun: “Andy was pulled in by the boss and warned to reign it in.
But he is blinded by Lou, and his telling-off fell on deaf ears.”
DailyMail reached out to Andy’s representatives for comment.
Reigniting Romance
It was initially Lou who ended the relationship, according to exclusive DailyMail reports.
Yet, just four days later, Andy confirmed they were giving things another try.
On Instagram, the couple shared affectionate snaps, including a mirror selfie from lunch at Maison Neo, where Lou captioned the photo: “Love you x.”
Andy also shared a playful snap of Lou showing off her snooker skills while in a stylish red bikini.
The pair later jetted to Ibiza for a romantic holiday before enjoying a night out at The MAINE.
Working Through Challenges
Andy recently admitted he’s making changes to save the relationship.
Last week, he told The Sun on Sunday that he’s cutting down on alcohol as they try to navigate their differences.
He added: “I love Lou and I love her family. We row like any couple. Things have been difficult for me as I’m going through a divorce.
Some of our rows have been about alcohol… We’re better off together and we’re trying to work through our difficulties.”
Social Media Moves
The couple had previously unfollowed each other on social media, and Andy had wiped all traces of Lou from his Instagram.
Now, they’re back to sharing loved-up snaps and following each other again, signaling a fresh chapter in their relationship.
Lou’s Perspective
A source close to Lou revealed that she initially ended the relationship to protect herself: “Lou has been very supportive of Andy all year, but she has to put herself first.
Ending the relationship is the only way to move forward.”
Despite Andy’s attempts to reconcile—including flying to Ibiza via private jet—Lou wanted space with her family rather than grand gestures.
Back to Football
Amid all the romantic drama, Andy returned to the UK last month after a two-year spell playing football in France, resuming his career with Dagenham & Redbridge.
Balancing love, life, and football has proven challenging, but it seems the couple is determined to give their romance another shot.
