Brooklyn Beckham has opened up about shocking family drama during his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, claiming that his mother Victoria Beckham “hijacked” their first dance and left him feeling completely humiliated.
The revelations, shared in an explosive Instagram post, shine a spotlight on what appears to have been a long-simmering tension between the Beckham family and the newlyweds.
At 26, Brooklyn expressed how his carefully planned romantic moment with his wife was derailed by his 51-year-old mother.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he wrote, describing how Victoria interrupted the moment in front of 500 guests.
A Wedding Dance Gone Wrong
Brooklyn recounted that, instead of enjoying the intimate dance with Nicola, he was called on stage by Marc Anthony, only to find his mother waiting to dance with him instead.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” Brooklyn admitted.
“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
The couple had hoped to renew their vows in a joyful, stress-free celebration, but Brooklyn suggested that Victoria’s actions turned what should have been a happy moment into one filled with anxiety and embarrassment.
A History of Family Conflict
The tension between Brooklyn, Nicola, and his parents seems to have a long history.
In his statement, Brooklyn alleged that his parents had tried “endlessly” to interfere in his relationship even before the wedding.
He claimed that Victoria canceled making Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, forcing the bride to scramble for a replacement.
He also revealed that his parents had tried to pressure him into signing away rights to his name, a move he refused, saying it would have affected not only him but also Nicola and their future children.
Brooklyn said this refusal reportedly caused a financial setback for his family, after which he felt they never treated him the same again.
Wedding Seating Drama
Brooklyn also recalled moments during the wedding planning when his mother reportedly called him “evil” over a seating arrangement that included his nanny Sandra and Nicola’s nanny.
Both nannies didn’t have their husbands, but Brooklyn and Nicola wanted them at their table.
Meanwhile, both sets of parents had their own tables nearby, which apparently did not prevent conflict.
He added that some family members questioned Nicola’s place in the family, telling him the night before the wedding that she was “not blood” and “not family.”
The Dress That Never Was
Nicola Peltz previously shared her own side of the wedding dress drama.
Initially, she had been thrilled to wear a dress designed by her future mother-in-law, Victoria, alongside her stylist and her mother.
However, Victoria reportedly told Nicola’s mother that her atelier couldn’t actually make the gown, leaving Nicola stunned.
“I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story,” Nicola explained in a past interview.
Left with no choice, she turned to Valentino for a stunning couture gown, which she ultimately wore on the big day.
Meanwhile, Victoria wore her own design, and four of her friends and her mother also donned Victoria Beckham gowns at the ceremony.

Despite all the family friction, Brooklyn made it clear that his loyalty to Nicola is unwavering.
He emphasized that Nicola is his “number one priority” and that they “have each other’s back 100 per cent.”
The luxurious wedding, held at the Peltz estate in Palm Beach, Florida, cost around £3.5 million and was followed by a vow renewal in New York in 2025, which reportedly did not include Brooklyn’s parents or siblings.
