Residents Wake to Foggy Conditions and Reduced Visibility Along KwaZulu-Natal Coastal Belt

Residents along KwaZulu-Natal’s coastal belt woke up to patches of fog this morning, reducing visibility and creating damp, humid conditions.

Drivers and commuters were advised to be cautious as the mist lingered along key roads and seaside areas.

Afternoon Thundershowers Forecast for Eastern Interior

Later in the day, KwaZulu-Natal’s eastern interior, including towns like Newcastle and Ladysmith, is expected to see isolated thundershowers.

While these storms are not as severe as those predicted in the Northern Cape, locals are encouraged to stay alert and plan outdoor activities accordingly.

Forecaster Azwitakadzi Tuwani explained, “KwaZulu-Natal can expect isolated showers, especially in the afternoon.

While they are not severe, they may disrupt outdoor plans.”

Inland Heat and Humidity on the Rise

Further inland, temperatures are set to rise, bringing hot and humid conditions.

The combination of heat and afternoon cloud buildup could trigger additional isolated showers, especially in central parts of the province.

Tuwani added, “We are closely monitoring both coastal and inland conditions.

KwaZulu-Natal is not under a severe storm warning, but residents should expect humid heat and occasional showers.”

Planning Around Fluctuating Weather

With KwaZulu-Natal experiencing rapidly changing weather patterns, flexibility is key.

Residents are advised to keep an eye on updates and plan outdoor activities with potential showers in mind.

Carrying light rain gear or postponing outdoor events until later in the day could help avoid disruptions.
