What began as an ordinary visit to a friend’s home has turned into a growing mystery that continues to worry loved ones and authorities alike.
Days after 21-year-old Isabella Comas vanished in Arizona, questions are mounting, searches are ongoing, and her family is still waiting for answers.
The Last Time Isabella Was Seen
Isabella Comas was last seen on Sunday as she was leaving a friend’s house in Avondale.
Her final known location was near West Van Buren Street and North 111th Avenue.
Concern grew quickly when she failed to show up to pick up a friend for work, prompting a missing person report with the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
By the following day, Isabella had also missed work and could not be reached by phone, deepening fears that something was seriously wrong.
A Boyfriend Arrested, but Not for Her Disappearance
As the search for Isabella continues, her boyfriend, 39-year-old Tommy Rodriguez, was arrested midweek.
However, the charges were unrelated to her disappearance.
Police took him into custody on suspicion of theft of means of transportation and criminal damage.
Despite this, investigators have identified Rodriguez as a person of interest in Isabella’s case.
Authorities stress that his arrest was not directly tied to her disappearance, even though prosecutors believe he may know more than he has shared.
Conflicting Claims and Prosecutors’ Concerns
During a court appearance in Maricopa County Superior Court, Rodriguez insisted he had not tried to evade authorities.
He told the court he had cooperated fully with investigators and denied attempting to flee.

Her cellphone was traced to a recycling center in Phoenix, roughly 18 miles from where she was last seen.
Shortly after, her red 2011 Hyundai Sonata was discovered near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix.
Prosecutor Dawn Sauer told the court that Rodriguez allegedly went to extreme lengths to damage or obscure evidence tied to the stolen vehicle.
She also warned that, if released, he could potentially destroy additional evidence connected to the case.
A Criminal History Under the Spotlight
Rodriguez’s past has added another layer of concern for prosecutors.
Court records show he previously spent more than 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
The conviction stemmed from a 2002 shooting in which an innocent nursing student was killed after Rodriguez went looking for someone to shoot.
His criminal record doesn’t end there.
In 2020, while on parole, Rodriguez was arrested again and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors said he stalked a former girlfriend, blocked her vehicle as she tried to leave with her children, and later threatened others with weapons before allegedly firing a gun.
Current Custody and Conditions
Rodriguez is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
Prosecutors argue that he poses a flight risk, noting that he lives in his father’s garage and has a history that raises safety concerns.
If he is able to post bail, he will be required to surrender his passports, wear an electronic monitoring device, and avoid contacting any victims.
