Commending Professionalism and Exploring Cooperation

Ambassador Cygan didn’t just applaud Nigeria’s military efforts—he also expressed Poland’s interest in deeper bilateral defence cooperation.

He pointed out that Nigeria’s strategic position in the region, combined with its sustained security operations, plays a crucial role in maintaining peace and stability across West Africa.

In his statement, Cygan emphasized:

“Nigeria’s Armed Forces demonstrate professionalism and resilience.

He reiterated that the Nigerian Air Force is committed to working closely with friendly nations to improve operational efficiency, develop capacity, and enhance intelligence sharing to safeguard national security.

He added that the NAF is ready to engage in partnerships that not only strengthen Nigeria’s counter-insurgency efforts but also contribute to regional and global security.

Focus on Defence Diplomacy and Bilateral Relations

The discussions during the ambassador’s visit centred on practical ways to enhance bilateral defence cooperation, especially in areas supporting the Air Force’s counter-insurgency operations nationwide.
