Residents along KwaZulu-Natal’s coast, including Durban and Richards Bay, woke up to a gray and drizzly morning.
Temperatures were on the cooler side, with Durban starting the day at around 16°C and other coastal spots hovering in the mid-teens.
“It is mostly cloudy this morning for the KwaZulu-Natal coastal areas with light rain and drizzle,” forecaster Joel Guy noted, painting a picture of a damp start to the day.
Sunshine to Make a Comeback
The soggy start won’t last all day. Meteorologists are predicting that the clouds will clear by the afternoon, bringing warmer and drier conditions to the region.
“It is going to become dry as we head towards the afternoon hours, with the skies also clearing,” Guy said.
Durban can expect temperatures to rise to around 24°C, while the northeastern interior may see highs reaching the upper 20s and even low 30s.
Settled Weather Ahead
Looking beyond today, KwaZulu-Natal residents can expect generally stable and pleasant weather.
The province is forecasted to enjoy warmer temperatures and clear skies, with minimal disruptions for outdoor activities.
“Much warmer conditions are expected for the northeastern parts, with settled weather overall,” said Guy.
He encouraged people to make the most of the outdoors as the weather transitions from wet mornings to bright, sunny afternoons.
