Brooklyn Beckham is back at it on Instagram, whipping up meals and sharing them with fans, despite facing some heat over his previous attempts.
The 26-year-old, son of David and Victoria Beckham, posted a new video on Sunday showing followers how to make “a simple tomato pasta sauce.”
This comes just weeks after celebrity chef Aldo Zilli slammed him for “burning bacon” in his spaghetti carbonara.
Celebrity Chefs Weigh In
The latest video didn’t escape scrutiny. Darren McGrady, former chef to King Charles, called Brooklyn’s choice of cooking pasta in seawater “ridiculous” and warned that Italians would be “horrified.”
Aldo, 69, was similarly unimpressed, accusing Brooklyn of jumping on a culinary bandwagon and insisting he needed a proper masterclass after mishandling the guanciale in his earlier dish.
A Nostalgic Throwback
Brooklyn’s new video had its charming quirks. He spoke directly to the camera, saying, “Today I am going to make a simple tomato pasta,” while a montage of his cooking played over Ashanti’s 2002 hit Foolish.
The nostalgic vibe continued in his outfit: he sported a white T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan “Jesus Is My Homeboy,” a design famously worn by Jessica Simpson, Pamela Anderson, Ben Affleck, Ashton Kutcher, and Brad Pitt during the early 2000s.
Poolside Presentation for Nicola Peltz
After preparing the dish, Brooklyn presented it to his wife, Nicola Peltz.
In a sweet clip, he joined her poolside and asked, “Darling, do you wanna try some? It is so good with this basil,” before the couple shared an “I love you.”
Nicola also posted another video of the pasta with the caption “Perfect Sunday,” showing that Brooklyn seemed completely unfazed by critics.
Defending the Controversial Cooking Choices
Brooklyn has often faced mixed reactions for his culinary videos.
When Aldo criticized him over the meat in his carbonara, Brooklyn defended himself, explaining, “Guanciale has a lot of sugar in that’s why it’s darker.
I slow cooked it so it’s not burned.” Darren McGrady added further guidance, noting the risks of using seawater due to potential bacteria, viruses, and excessive salt.
He also shared his tips for perfectly cooked pasta, including a stern warning against adding olive oil.
The Ongoing Family Feud
Brooklyn’s social media posts arrive in the wake of a lavish vow renewal with Nicola, three years after their original wedding.
The ceremony, held on August 2 in Westchester County, included Nicola’s family but notably excluded the Beckham clan.
Sources suggest tension between Brooklyn and his family may explain the absence.
Inside the Beckham Family Tensions
Friends of the family told The Sun that David and Victoria were puzzled by the timing of the vow renewal.
“They would understand if it was, say, 10 years down the line—maybe even five. But three?! It seems like quite a gratuitous display of obscene wealth,” a source said.
While David and Victoria reportedly want Brooklyn to be happy, ongoing tensions dating back to 2021 have made reconciliation difficult. “A lot of people have been hurt.
It is a sad situation and everyone fears there is no way back now. It is done,” the source added.
