Superman actor Dean Cain struggles through ICE training course in Georgia as critics mock his attempt to climb walls and crawl through barrels

Dean Cain, the actor once celebrated for playing Superman on TV, found himself in the headlines again—but this time, not for his acting.

At 59, Cain tried his hand at training with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Georgia, and the internet quickly pounced on his performance.

A Hollywood Star Turns “Honorary” ICE Officer

Cain revealed that he is stepping into the role of an “honorary” ICE officer, backing President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement push.

His aim? To help boost recruitment numbers by lending his star power

. “People don’t realize, they think ICE is this horrible, nefarious group and they’re not—they’re phenomenal people,” Cain explained, adding that he proudly stands with law enforcement.

Struggles on the Obstacle Course

Footage aired by Fox News showed Cain attempting a physical training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

The actor was filmed slowly climbing over a wall, crawling through a barrel, dragging a dummy, and even practicing at the shooting range alongside acting ICE director Todd Lyons.

But instead of looking like Superman, Cain appeared more like an everyday guy out of his depth.

Critics didn’t hold back—one asked if the video had been “slowed down,” while another joked, “If the citizens start fighting back, ICE is screwed.”

Online Reactions: From Jokes to Embarrassment

Social media lit up with ridicule, with some comparing the course to a “kiddy playground” and calling his attempt “utterly embarrassing.”

Others, however, acknowledged his intentions but questioned whether he was the right face for recruitment.

“Glad he wants to help, but he’s probably not your best candidate tbh,” one commenter wrote.

ICE Sees It as a Win

Despite the mockery, ICE seems pleased.

The agency shared the video online, encouraging viewers to apply, dangling incentives like a $50,000 signing bonus, $60,000 in student loan repayment, and a 25% pay boost.

Officials hope Cain’s participation will encourage more people to join, especially after lifting age restrictions to expand their pool of applicants.

Cain Fires Back at the Critics

Cain didn’t shy away from the backlash. He defended his efforts, insisting critics were missing the point.

“What you’re making fun of is me standing up for federal law enforcement and American citizens,” he said firmly.

“If you want to make fun of me for that, go ahead.”

His Mission to “Save America”

Earlier this month, Cain had already announced his decision to join ICE “ASAP,” saying it was about more than words—it was about action.

“I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans,” he explained.

Tying His Role to Trump’s Immigration Crackdown

Cain praised ICE’s work under Trump, saying the agency has arrested “hundreds of thousands of criminals including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, [and] drug traffickers.”

For him, helping ICE isn’t just a symbolic gesture—it’s about aligning himself with their mission to “protect families and America’s homeland.”

A Big Push for Recruitment

ICE says Cain’s involvement comes at a time when applications are pouring in—100,000 people have reportedly applied for about 10,000 openings in their latest recruitment drive.

Whether Cain’s attempt at the obstacle course inspires or entertains, one thing is clear: his role in this campaign has definitely grabbed attention.
