Italian restaurant in Sag Harbor introduces diamond martini that sells for eight thousand dollars in the Hamptons

The Hamptons are no stranger to lavish displays of wealth, but this summer one restaurant has gone above and beyond—literally serving luxury in a glass.

Forget the usual beachside cocktails, because an Italian eatery in Sag Harbor is now offering a martini that comes with an $8,000 diamond twist.

The Birth of the $8,000 Martini

Dopo La Spiaggia, a popular Italian restaurant, has introduced what it calls The Rock on Rocks—a giant martini made with gin and vermouth.

It looks like a classic cocktail with its olive garnish, but the real sparkle comes from the diamond tennis necklace resting inside, courtesy of Manhattan jeweler Jimmy the Rock Diamonds.

Since its launch on July 21, about half a dozen of these extravagant drinks have already been sold.

Each order also comes with a special engraved glass featuring both the restaurant and jeweler’s names, making it a keepsake as well as a drink.

A Friendship Behind the Idea

Jeweler Jimmy Roccisano, better known as “Jimmy the Rock,” came up with the idea and immediately reached out to his longtime friend, Chef Maurizio Marfoglia, who owns Dopo La Spiaggia.

The two met back in the 1990s in Manhattan’s Soho and have stayed close ever since.

Roccisano says Marfoglia didn’t even let him finish explaining the concept before jumping onboard.

Not Just About the Money

While the necklace included in the drink normally retails for $10,000, Roccisano offers it at the wholesale price of $8,000.

That hasn’t thrilled other jewelers in the Hamptons, but for him, this project was never about profit.

Every martini sold includes a $1,000 donation to a charity of the buyer’s choice.

“I do a lot of charitable stuff,” Roccisano explained. “It’s not a profitable thing.

People laughed about it, but it was fun—and it helps.”

Customers Loving the Experience

For many buyers, the cocktail isn’t just about the diamonds—it’s about the unique experience.

Restaurant manager Ania Stesik explained that it appeals to those who want something different than simply walking into a jewelry store and buying a necklace.

One fan, 72-year-old Rita Burton, decided to splurge on the martini to honor her mother by donating to a breast cancer charity.

Burton, who extended her trip from Arizona to New York after hearing about the drink, said it was worth every penny:

“This was a lot more fun than just shopping. I get to sit here, enjoy the Hamptons view, and walk away with something meaningful.”

Options Beyond the Martini

And for those who aren’t martini lovers? The restaurant says the diamond drink can be served with any beverage of choice—even iced coffee.

Just don’t expect the price to drop if you swap the cocktail for caffeine.

Expanding the Luxury

Thanks to its popularity, Dopo La Spiaggia’s sister restaurant, Dopo Argento in Southampton, will also start offering the diamond-studded drink.

Guests have until the end of summer to order this glitzy indulgence before it disappears from the menu.
