Reports of new airstrikes and cross-border operations are once again fueling tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
This time, the spotlight is on the Kursk region, where Russian sources claim Ukrainian forces carried out aerial and ground operations close to the border.
Alleged F-16 Bombing Near Kursk
According to the Archangel Spetsnaz Telegram channel, two Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets allegedly dropped guided bombs near Tetkino, a small village situated on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
While these claims remain unverified, the reports suggest Ukraine’s air force may be expanding its reach deeper into Russian-held territory.
Increase in Ukrainian Air Activity
The same channel also pointed to a rise in Ukrainian military aviation activity in recent days.
In addition to the alleged F-16 strike, Russian sources reported that a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet was spotted operating in the same border region.
Reports of Saboteurs Crossing into Russia
The situation on the ground appears just as tense.
Russian outlets claimed that Ukrainian sabotage groups crossed into the Bryansk region earlier this week.
Photos later circulated online reportedly showed the bodies of several fighters killed during the incursion, some with gunshot wounds to the head.
Russian accounts also allege that three other Ukrainian soldiers were captured alive during the operation.
Escalation or Propaganda?
As with many wartime reports, independent verification is difficult.
Russian state-affiliated channels have often been the first to release such claims, while Ukrainian officials remain tight-lipped about operations inside Russian territory.
Still, the allegations—whether accurate or not—underscore the fragile and volatile situation along the border, where aerial strikes and sabotage missions continue to blur the lines between battlefield and home front.
