Donald Trump’s sons celebrate Venezuela raid as President detains Maduro in South America

The recent U.S. military raid in Venezuela and the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro have sparked contrasting responses from President Donald Trump’s children.

While his eldest sons celebrated the operation on social media, his daughter Ivanka chose to reflect on family and the past year rather than commenting directly on the strike.

Don Jr. hails father’s action

Donald Trump Jr. took to X on Saturday evening, describing Venezuelans as “ecstatic” about their newfound freedom from dictatorship.

He highlighted the tens of thousands of Venezuelan immigrants living in New York City and across the United States as a reminder of the oppressive regime they fled.

In a Facebook post, Don Jr. added: “If we have to go to war, and sometimes we do, I like my wars measured in minutes not decades.” His comments framed the raid as a decisive, short-term action to protect freedom.

Eric Trump celebrates the “FAFO” era

Meanwhile, Eric Trump reposted his father’s official announcement about the raid, adding a comment referencing the administration’s bold approach:

“The ‘FAFO’ (F*** Around and Find Out) era continues.” Eric’s post emphasized pride in his father’s strategy and the administration’s willingness to act decisively.

Ivanka focuses on family and reflection

Unlike her brothers, Ivanka Trump avoided commentary on the raid. Instead, she shared a series of Instagram photos highlighting moments from 2025 with her husband Jared Kushner and their three children.

Her caption read: “Starting the year surrounded by family, fresh air, and grateful hearts,” accompanied by images of meals, outdoor activities, and family time.

She also posted a photo of the January full moon, writing: “The Wolf Moon rising. January’s full moon, marking the start of the new year!”

A step back from politics, but not from advocacy

Ivanka had previously stated she would take a backseat in her father’s second presidential term, saying she dislikes the “darkness” of politics, even though she cares deeply about policy and impact.

Despite this, she has occasionally shown support for political initiatives, particularly those related to peace and humanitarian work.

In October, she appeared at a rally in Tel Aviv with Jared Kushner following a ceasefire in Gaza, highlighting the importance of lasting peace.

She praised families affected by the conflict and relayed a message from her father: “He sees you, he hears you, he stands with you, always.” The crowd responded with chants of gratitude and solidarity.

Ivanka’s philanthropic efforts continue

Even while stepping away from the political spotlight, Ivanka has remained active in philanthropy. In October, she was appointed to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund Advisory Board, a $100 million initiative partly funded by 2026 World Cup ticket sales.

She shared the news on Instagram, noting other board members such as The Weeknd, Shakira, Hugh Jackman, Serena Williams, Kaka, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

The group is tasked with guiding the fund to maximize its impact, aiming to support education for 100,000 children in over 200 countries ahead of the World Cup this summer.

Looking ahead to the FIFA World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to conclude on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Education Fund seeks to leverage the global attention on the event to create lasting educational opportunities worldwide, with Ivanka Trump playing a visible role in this effort.

What’s next?

While Donald Trump’s sons publicly praised the Venezuela raid, Ivanka has remained focused on family, philanthropy, and reflective messaging.

As the political and humanitarian aftermath unfolds, the differing approaches of the Trump siblings illustrate a blend of celebration, caution, and advocacy in response to major international events.
