Louis Rees-Zammit has made it official: Bristol is where he wants to continue his rugby journey.
The 24-year-old wing, who recently returned from a stint in the NFL, has signed a long-term deal with the Bears, committing his future to the club.
For Rees-Zammit, Bristol feels like the right place to express his game and reach his full potential.
This is the perfect club for me,” he said.
“I love the way we play here, and the fans at Ashton Gate make every matchday feel special.
I’m excited for what we can build together in the coming years.”
From NFL Dreams Back to Rugby
Rees-Zammit’s journey has been anything but ordinary.
After starting the season back in rugby, he had NFL contracts with the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars under his belt.
Initially, he joined Bristol on a one-year deal, planning to move to rugby’s new breakaway league, R360, in 2026.
But when R360 delayed its launch until at least 2028, Rees-Zammit pivoted.
Staying with Bristol became the clear choice, giving him stability and a platform to continue developing his skills at the top level.
A Wing in His Prime
There’s no denying Rees-Zammit’s talent.
Known for blistering pace and a sharp eye for the try line, he has already crossed for six tries in eight appearances this season.
Beyond club rugby, he returned to the Wales squad for their autumn internationals, marking his first national appearances since the 2023 World Cup.
While wing is his natural home, he has also impressed at full-back during the festive period, showcasing his versatility and rugby IQ.
Bristol’s Bright Future
Bristol currently sits fourth in the Premiership table, and the team is gearing up for a key clash with Sale this Friday.
Director of Rugby Pat Lam praised Rees-Zammit’s impact since returning from the NFL:
“Louis is a world-class talent and exactly the kind of player who fits our style.
Beyond his speed and skill, his professionalism and hunger to improve stand out.
At 24, he’s only scratching the surface of what he can achieve.
The future is extremely bright for him and for Bristol.”
The Road Ahead
With this long-term commitment, both Rees-Zammit and Bristol can focus on growth and success.
Fans can look forward to seeing the wing thrive in front of home crowds, while the club builds around one of rugby’s most exciting talents.
For Rees-Zammit, it’s clear: Bristol isn’t just a stop—it’s the place where he wants to leave his mark.
