It’s not often that the granddaughter of a cricket legend makes headlines for reasons far outside the sporting world, but that’s exactly what’s happening with Imani-Jayne Botham.
While her grandfather, Lord Ian Botham, is celebrated for his unforgettable cricketing legacy, Imani-Jayne is carving out her own path through the world of pageantry, modeling, and social media.
Lord Ian Botham’s Legendary Career
For context, Ian Botham, now 69, remains one of England’s most iconic all-rounders.
His career saw him represent his country in 102 Test matches and 116 One Day Internationals, often delivering game-changing moments with both bat and ball.
England’s famous 1981 Ashes win is still affectionately remembered as “Botham’s Ashes.”
After hanging up his boots, Botham transitioned smoothly into football stints with Yeovil and Scunthorpe, followed by a long and respected media career as a pundit with Sky Sports.
His contributions to sport were officially recognized when he was knighted in 2007 and later elevated to the House of Lords in 2020.
The Rise of Imani-Jayne Botham
But the latest chapter in the family story belongs to Imani-Jayne.
In 2021, she won the title of Miss Yorkshire, which led her to compete in Miss England.
Although she didn’t win the national crown, the achievement gave her momentum in modeling while she was still pursuing a fashion degree at the University of Nottingham.
Since then, she’s built a presence on social media, where her Instagram account—now followed by more than 7,000 people—offers glimpses into her life, fashion, and travels.
A Life Beyond Cricket
Imani-Jayne’s latest update came from Mallorca, where she soaked up the sun and explored the island’s scenery.
From laid-back beach moments to sightseeing trips, she captured the spirit of her travels in a series of holiday snaps. She captioned the post simply: “I like it here.”
The 23-year-old, one of Ian Botham’s eight grandchildren, grew up in Yorkshire with four brothers.
She’s even joked before that being the only girl makes her “a little spoiled.”
Lord Botham Today
While his granddaughter enjoys the social media spotlight, Lord Botham has kept a lower profile since stepping away from Sky Sports in 2019.
Even so, he made a notable public appearance earlier this summer at Wimbledon, where he received a warm reception while sitting in the Royal Box.
Away from the cameras, Botham—known fondly as “Beefy”—remains busy.
He chairs Durham County Cricket Club, runs a successful wine business, and continues his long-standing charitable work.
