South Korean scientist YoungHoon Kim, 36, has grabbed global attention by asserting that not only does God exist, but that His existence can be proven mathematically.
Recognized by the World Mind Sports Council, Kim currently holds the world record for the highest IQ at an astonishing 276—far above the so-called “genius” level, which begins at 140.
For context, legendary minds like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking reportedly had IQs around 160.
From AI Research to Theology
Kim is an unusual blend of science and faith.
An AI researcher and entrepreneur, he also holds a theology degree from Seoul’s Yonsei University.
Through social media, he regularly shares his belief that science and mathematics point to a divine creator as the origin of the universe.
His December 11 Instagram post went viral, stating plainly: “God is real 100 percent and Jesus is God.”
Faith and Intelligence
Kim has suggested that believing in Jesus can enhance creativity, intelligence, and success.
Yet, his views have sparked controversy—he has predicted that Jesus will return in 10 years and has described homosexuality as a sin, remarks that have provoked heated debate online.
A Mathematical Argument for God
One of Kim’s most watched social media contributions is a three-minute YouTube video in which he argues that the existence of God can be deduced through mathematics.
He explains it using three key ideas:
-
The First Point: “A line cannot start without a first point,” he says. Just as every line in geometry must begin somewhere, the universe must have started from a “first point” that set everything in motion.
-
No Infinite Past: Time cannot extend infinitely backward, Kim explains. If it did, we could never reach the present—just as counting down from negative infinity would never reach zero.
-
Multiplication and Growth: Multiplying one repeatedly never produces something bigger; for the universe to exist and expand, a greater power must have intervened.
Kim concludes that the only explanation satisfying all three points is a first cause: necessary, timeless, powerful, and intelligent—what he equates with God.
The video has been viewed over 218,000 times.
Jesus as the Ultimate Genius
Beyond mathematics, Kim emphasizes Jesus’ unmatched intelligence.
In a November post, he declared: “No Einstein.
No Newton. Only Jesus is the Smartest Man in the History of the World.”
For Kim, Jesus is not only God incarnate but also the pinnacle of human intellect.
A Legacy of Genius and Faith
Kim is not the first intellectual to explore divinity through science.
American horse rancher Chris Langan, whose IQ reportedly ranges from 190 to 210, has proposed the Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU), suggesting that consciousness continues after death in another dimension.
Langan views traditional notions of heaven and hell as overly simplistic, instead describing the afterlife as a transformation within reality’s computational structure.
Consciousness Beyond the Body
Kim echoes these ideas, proposing that death is not the end but a transition.
“If reality is part of something bigger, then death is not the end, but a transition,” he says.
Drawing on quantum physics, he adds that if consciousness is information, it never truly disappears—it simply changes form.
The Debate Continues
Whether you view Kim as a visionary, a provocateur, or somewhere in between, his claims merge extreme intelligence with bold spiritual assertions, sparking discussions about the intersection of science, faith, and the very nature of existence.
