For most people, one wedding is enough – but for Mel B, the magic of love deserved a second chapter.
The Spice Girls icon, 50, has revealed that her second wedding to husband Rory McPhee, 37, wasn’t just special – it “exceeded all expectations.”
The couple celebrated their love in style with a lavish three-day event in the vibrant city of Marrakesh, Morocco.
It came just weeks after their more traditional first ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Speaking to HELLO! Magazine, Mel said the emotional outdoor ceremony had her and Rory in happy tears, surrounded by close friends, family, and a few famous faces.
A Family Affair With Heartfelt Roles
Mel’s children each had a starring role in the Moroccan celebration.
Her eldest daughter Phoenix, 26, proudly walked her down the aisle.
Middle child Angel, 18, switched things up by standing as one of Rory’s groomsmen, while youngest daughter Madison, 13, was a bridesmaid.
“That meant the world to me,” Mel said. “It was the most amazing day, so full of love.”
A Dress That Dazzled in Moroccan Sunlight
If anyone could turn a wedding dress into a statement of culture and personality, it’s Mel B. She stunned in a sheer, thigh-split Justin Alexander gown, hand-beaded with red crystals and bugle beads – a masterpiece that took six artisans over 850 hours to create.
Supplied by Caroline Black of Evelie Bridal in London, the gown was paired with a Moroccan-inspired cathedral veil studded with red crystals.
The red wasn’t just for drama – it was an intentional nod to Moroccan culture.
“As the sun went down, I wanted to look like a floating mermaid – a fiery red, passionate one – gliding in ruby diamonds,” Mel explained.
“Morocco has that red va-va-voom – it’s passionate and spiritual.”
Spice Girls Reunion on the Dance Floor
One of the night’s highlights came when Mel C – who couldn’t make the London wedding – joined the celebrations.
The two Spice Girls couldn’t resist jumping on the mic for an impromptu performance of Holler, throwing it back to their girl group days.
“It was great to have my fellow northerner Mel C there,” Mel said. “We went crazy when Holler came on.
We’ve grown up together, and to share that weekend with her and her lovely partner Chris was so special.”
A Tale of Two Weddings
The Moroccan celebration couldn’t have been more different from Mel and Rory’s first wedding in London.
The St Paul’s Cathedral ceremony was grand but surprisingly low-key – with guests heading home by 7pm despite a horse-and-carriage arrival and a reception at The Shard.
That London guest list included Emma Bunton, comedians Alan Carr, Katherine Ryan, and Tom Allen.
But it also highlighted some absences – Victoria Beckham sent her love from abroad, while Geri Halliwell-Horner remained noticeably silent, continuing years of on-and-off tension with Mel.
The Geri Factor
Mel and Geri’s relationship has been rocky at times, most infamously after Mel revealed in 2019 that they’d been intimate early in their Spice Girls career – a claim Geri was said to be deeply upset about.
Reports suggest Mel never apologised, and the snub at her wedding celebrations has only added to the speculation.
Meanwhile, stars like Heidi Klum, Paloma Faith, and Kerry Katona were quick to send public congratulations after the Moroccan festivities.
A Celebration to Remember
Two weddings, two completely different vibes – but one clear message: Mel B and Rory McPhee are madly in love.
From the grand halls of St Paul’s to the sunlit courtyards of Marrakesh, their journey down the aisle has been anything but ordinary.
And as for Mel? She’s proved that when it comes to love and celebration, sometimes once just isn’t enough.
