David Dickinson Spotted Doing Christmas Shopping While Showing Off His £260,000 Bentley in Handforth Cheshire

David Dickinson, the beloved antiques expert and TV star, was seen doing some last-minute Christmas shopping in Handforth, Cheshire, this Thursday.

The 84-year-old Bargain Hunt and Dickinson’s Real Deal presenter arrived in style, stepping out of his £260,000 convertible Bentley while trying to stay low-key with his hood up.

Laidback Christmas Shopping

Dressed casually in a black zip-up hoodie and jeans, Dickinson pushed a large trolley loaded with his M&S shopping bags to the car before stowing them in the boot.

Despite the luxury vehicle, the star seemed more focused on his groceries than turning heads, giving off a relaxed, approachable vibe.

From Bargain Hunt to Real Deal

Dickinson, affectionately known as “The Duke,” became a household name in 2000 as the witty host of Bargain Hunt, famous for catchphrases like “real bobby-dazzler” and “cheap as chips.”

His success on the BBC led to his own show, Dickinson’s Real Deal, which he has now hosted for 14 seasons, cementing his reputation as one of the UK’s leading antiques experts.

Sharing His Secrets with Bargain Hunters

The antiques guru has always been passionate about finding hidden treasures.

In an interview with the Daily Mail earlier this year, he offered tips for novices eager to make their own bargains.

“Go to your local saleroom,” he advised. “It doesn’t cost you anything.

You can have a wander around, pick up a catalogue, and see if anything appeals for your home.”

He was less enthusiastic about car boot sales, noting that while occasionally someone might find a gem at 5 a.m., “quality is always more expensive on the day, but it never lets you down in the long run.”

His mantra is clear: invest in good quality, and it will stand the test of time.

Television Career Spanning Decades

Dickinson’s career has spanned more than 30 years, earning him numerous awards, including an MBE.

Beyond antiques, he’s appeared as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, proving his versatility and charisma extend beyond the auction room.

No Plans to Retire

Despite his age and decades in television, Dickinson shows no signs of slowing down.

“For the last 30 years or so, I’ve worked in television.

It’s paid me very, very well. I’ve had a handsome living and a great lifestyle,” he told the Daily Mail.

“I will keep doing that as long as there is demand for me to do something.”

He also addressed swirling retirement rumors, calling them “total fake news.”

“I’m still here, I’m still kicking, I’m still working,” he said.

Ever the savvy investor, Dickinson admitted he is “always looking for the next deal and new methods of investment,” proving the Bargain Hunt star is far from finished.

A Star Still Going Strong

From high-stakes antiques to luxury Bentleys and casual grocery trips, David Dickinson remains as engaging and active as ever.

Whether on television or hunting for the next bargain, fans can rest assured that “The Duke” isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
