Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are diving into a brand-new project with Netflix, just months after signing their refreshed first-look deal with the streaming giant.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are producing a film adaptation of The Wedding Date, a bestselling romance novel by Jasmine Guillory.

Originally published in 2018, the book is the first in a six-part series.

A Star-Studded Creative Team

The adaptation is being scripted by Tracy Oliver, known for the hit 2017 comedy Girls Trip.

Harry and Meghan are producing the project through their Archewell Productions banner, collaborating with Tracy Ryerson, who also worked on the 2023 movie The Senior.

The story centers on Alexa Monroe, who reluctantly agrees to accompany a stranger, Drew Nichols, to a wedding after they get stuck in an elevator together.

What starts as a last-minute, fake date could turn into something more, blending humor, romance, and heartfelt moments.

Just two weeks ago, Meghan’s Christmas special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, premiered on Netflix.
