Georgina Baillie, granddaughter of the late Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs, has announced some surprising news: she is engaged to Rusty Egan, the 68-year-old musician who co-founded the New Romantic band Visage and is best known for the hit Fade to Grey.
At 40, Georgina is set to marry a man 28 years her senior, and she tells me excitedly, “We are planning the wedding.”
Sadly, her famous grandfather, who passed away in 2016, won’t be there to see the celebrations.
A Gift as Personal as a Sapphire
Rusty Egan, entering his third marriage, has already shown his thoughtfulness with an engagement ring featuring a large sapphire.
Georgina explains, “He wanted it to match my eyes.”
Egan has four children from previous marriages — a daughter with his first wife, Miranda, and three sons with his late second wife, Penelope.
Overcoming Past Scandals
Georgina has had her share of public challenges, including the infamous Sachsgate scandal in 2008.
During that episode, Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross left inappropriate messages on her grandfather’s answerphone regarding her relationship with Brand.
The scandal led Georgina to rehab, which Brand reportedly funded.
Today, she proudly shares that she has been sober for more than five years and credits Egan with helping her embrace new experiences, like attending concerts, without needing alcohol or substances.

A Royal Cake Nearly Collapses
In London, royal baker Juliet Sear nearly experienced disaster while preparing a three-tiered chocolate cake for Prince William’s 20th anniversary as patron of the homelessness charity Centrepoint.
Sear admits she made a “schoolboy error” by not doweling the cake properly.
Thanks to quick thinking, extra time, and a hacksaw, the cake was reinforced just in time for the event, saving the day — and the celebration.
