When you’re a global music star with eight ARIA awards under your belt, you’d think a Sunday dinner wouldn’t involve filming a TikTok outside a Wetherspoons pub in Wales.
But that’s exactly what Amy Shark did — and fans couldn’t get enough.
Currently on a holiday in Barry, Wales, the 39-year-old Aussie singer decided to document her evening plans with a bit of humour and a pinch of self-awareness.
Amy Goes Looking for Company… or Maybe Just a Roast
In a short TikTok video, Amy casually stood outside a Wetherspoons pub, looking every bit the relatable solo traveller.
“Hi, I’m Amy, and if anyone is in Barry in Wales, I’m just taking myself here for a Sunday roast dinner,” she said, pointing behind her to the pub.
She even threw in a cheeky “I’m by myself. I’m a Taurus,” before abruptly ending the clip.
The caption? A tongue-in-cheek cry for company: “Date night?? Anyone”, along with hashtags like #solo, #sad, and the blunt #f***.
Of course, fans were quick to point out the irony — Wetherspoons pubs don’t even serve Sunday roasts.
Fans Were Eager to Join… From Afar
The post quickly gathered a bunch of comments from fans who either wished they were in Wales or just loved the vibe.
“The flight is way too long, unfortunately. I’d be there in a heartbeat,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Dinner with you sounds awesome. But stuck here in WA, godammit.”
Some had a bit of fun with the location, too. Barry is well-known to many Brits as the setting for the beloved sitcom Gavin and Stacey.
One follower joked, “Just find Nessa and ask her ‘what’s occurring?’”
Others took the trivia route and reminded fans that Barry also happens to be the birthplace of former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
Sorry, Folks — She’s Still Very Much Married
Before the internet could run wild with dating theories, let’s clear this up: Amy Shark isn’t on the market.
She’s been married to husband Shane Billings since 2013.
The TikTok, while lighthearted, was probably more about fun than a genuine call for a date.
A Recent Post Got a Lot More Personal
Amy’s been more active — and more raw — on social media lately.
Just a few weeks before the Wetherspoons moment, she shared an emotional video that left fans both surprised and concerned.
In it, she opened up about painful family issues she’s rarely spoken about publicly.
She looked straight into the camera and confessed that she doesn’t speak to her parents anymore — not her mum, not her dad — and that the only person she truly cared about has passed away.
“I Could Be Going Crazy” – Amy Gets Candid
In that same June post, Amy let her guard down completely. “I could be going f***ing crazy, crazy.
Like I could do anything. I’m not going to disappoint anyone,” she said.
She also reflected on her upbringing, mentioning that her parents were very young when she was born — just 19 and 20 — and hinted that she’d uncovered disturbing truths about their past.
The clip ended with a quiet plea for recognition and respect: “I just think I need a little more respect from people to be like, wow, Amy turned out pretty good.”
Fans Rallied Around Her With Support
The emotional honesty struck a chord. Thousands of people flooded the comments with messages of support. “Are you okay, Amy?” many asked.
One fan shared their own experience: “I haven’t spoken to my narcissistic psycho parents for over 10 years now. Life is so peaceful.”
Another fan summed up what many were likely thinking: “You are an awesome, talented, most incredible person. Just keep being you.”
If there’s one thing clear from Amy’s recent posts, it’s that even at the top of her career, she’s not afraid to be vulnerable and real with her fans — whether she’s working through personal pain or joking about roast dinners in Wales.
