It was meant to be just another routine day at the New England Patriots’ training facility — but it quickly turned into a tense moment when one of the team’s top coaches, Terrell Williams, had to be carted off the field after collapsing on the sideline.

A Sudden Collapse Shocks the Sideline

Williams, who serves as the Patriots’ defensive coordinator, reportedly fell ill during Monday’s practice behind Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

According to several local reporters at the scene, the 51-year-old was immediately attended to by medical staff.

A stretcher was even brought out as a precaution.

Thankfully, Williams was able to get up on his own and was later driven off in a medical cart — but the scare understandably shook everyone present.

This Wasn’t His First Health Concern This Year

What makes this incident even more concerning is that it comes just weeks after Williams had only recently returned to the team.

Earlier this year, during rookie minicamp, he had to step away from his role due to an unspecified health issue.

On doctors’ orders, he worked remotely for a time before finally rejoining the team a little over a week ago.

Reports Say It Was Just Dehydration This Time

Though the collapse looked serious at first, the good news is that it wasn’t linked to his previous health scare.

According to reporter Andrew Callahan, Williams was treated for dehydration and is now doing fine.

That update has brought some relief to both the team and fans alike.

Another Coach Steps In to Finish Practice

After Williams left the field, the Patriots quickly adjusted.

Inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhl stepped in and took over play-calling responsibilities for the remainder of the session, helping keep things running smoothly in Williams’ absence.

Teammates and Coaches Rally Around “Big T”

Williams, affectionately nicknamed “Big T,” has been a beloved presence on the team.

When he returned last month, head coach Mike Vrabel had nothing but praise: “Big T is here, ready to go.

He’s been out on the field with us the last couple of days,” he said. “Players were excited to see him. I was excited to see him, and we’ll move forward.”

A Veteran Coach With Years of NFL Experience

With nearly three decades in the game, Williams has built a respected name for himself in football.

He started coaching back in 1998 at the college level, eventually breaking into the NFL in 2012 with the then–Oakland Raiders.

Since then, he’s spent time with several teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions, before joining New England earlier this year.

Patriots Yet to Comment Publicly

While reports have confirmed that Williams is recovering well, the Patriots organization hasn’t released an official statement yet.
