It’s shaping up to be an exciting summer for Manchester United fans, with major moves happening up front.

While many assumed Benjamin Sesko’s potential signing could push Rasmus Hojlund out the door, the reality might be quite the opposite.

Instead of replacing him, new manager Ruben Amorim reportedly sees both young stars coexisting — and even thriving — together.

Amorim Sees a Future with Hojlund and Sesko Side by Side

According to reports, Amorim isn’t looking to offload Hojlund despite the intense interest in Sesko.

In fact, the Portuguese boss believes that bringing in RB Leipzig’s Slovenian striker could light a competitive fire under Hojlund and push both players to perform at their best.

It’s not a case of either-or — Amorim is open to both staying and competing for their spots.

Hojlund Impresses on the Pitch Amid Transfer Buzz

While talk of Sesko’s arrival swirled, Hojlund made his mark in United’s 4–1 pre-season victory over Bournemouth in Chicago.

The Danish forward kicked things off with the opening goal and even tried to claim a second, though it was ultimately awarded to teammate Amad Diallo.

The timing was notable, as the news broke on the same day that Sesko was confirmed as United’s top striker target.

Hojlund’s Future Still Up in the Air, Says Amorim

Despite the buzz, Amorim isn’t locking anything in just yet.

After the match, he spoke candidly about Hojlund’s situation:

“I’m really happy with Rasmus. He’s scoring, he’s improving, he’s linking well with the team.

But I don’t know what’s going to happen until the market closes.”

His comments suggest that while he’s excited by Sesko’s potential, he still values what Hojlund brings to the squad and wants to keep him — if that’s what the player wants.

United’s Pre-Season Form Shows Signs of Promise

United didn’t just beat Bournemouth — they looked sharp doing it.

Along with Hojlund and Diallo, Patrick Dorgu and Ethan Williams also got on the scoresheet.

A late own goal from Matthijs de Ligt gave Bournemouth something to cling to, but the result was never really in doubt.

Coming off a 2–1 win over West Ham in New Jersey, the team seems to be gaining momentum under Amorim.

Amorim Pleased with Energy and Execution

The new boss praised the performance and the mindset his players are showing in pre-season:

“We played with intensity and were more aggressive, which is something we needed to improve from last season.

The possession was better too. The players are listening, and scoring early helps build confidence.”

It’s early days yet, but signs are pointing in the right direction as Amorim shapes his squad for the upcoming campaign.
