The Brazilians were not in domestic action this weekend as they had CAF Champions League commitments where they lost 3-2 on aggregate to Petro de Luanda in the quarter-finals.
However, they were still the biggest winners locally after Royal AM played to a 0-0 draw with AmaZulu on Sunday afternoon.
Royal AM can now finish the season on 57 points provided they win all their remaining four games – Sundowns are already on 57 points.
Now, no any other team except Royal AM can get to 57 points – meaning all Sundowns need is a draw against Cape Town City on Wednesday, 27 April.
Kick-off at Loftus Versveld Stadium is at 19:30.

GUARD OF HONOUR FOR MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Should Sundowns manage to get past Cape Town City or even play a draw, all the other four teams they still have to play against should give them a guard of honour.
Those teams are Sekhukhune United, Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch, and Shauwn Mkhize’s Royal AM in May.
Sundowns visit Sekhukhune on 3 May, before traveling to Kaizer Chiefs on 8 May. They will then host Stellenbosch on 14 May and wrap up the campaign with a visit to Royal AM on 21 May.
