The Village Headmaster, Nigeria’s popular family television drama series, is due to return to the air on Sunday, April 24th, 2022.
This was revealed by Mr Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, Director General of the Nigeria Television Authority, during the formal re-launch of the top television sitcom in Abuja on Friday.
The NTA DG praised Ace TV production company Wale Adenuga Productions and Nigerian telecommunications behemoth Globacom for their efficient partnership in bringing the production back to life, and vowed that the NTA would do its part.
Mr.Ibn Mohammed stated that the Village Headmaster drama series will return to Nigerian television screens on Sunday, April 24th, at exactly 8 p.m. Nigerian time, after a 34-year hiatus. He noted that this will bring nostalgic feelings to the teaming fans of the beloved series.
The NTA and other stakeholders strategized and agreed to bring the legendary drama series back to the screens, according to the DG.
According to him, the village headmaster’s relaunched series would once again attract, educate, and delight viewers, just as it did in the past.
Wale Adenuga, one of the masterminds behind the return of the top drama series and an expert TV producer, said the return of the sitcom is filled with the same addiction and memory as the return of the top drama series.
He claims that the production strategy assures that each episode is packed with action, comedy, and valuable teachings.
The Village Headmaster was Nigeria’s first big television drama series after independence, and it aired till 1984.
The first series, following the formal relaunch, will air on NTA on Sunday, April 24th at 8 p.m., followed by AIT and WAP tv productions on various dates and times.
