On Wednesday, April 20th, American actress Jada Pinkett Smith addressed her husband Will Smith’s slapping of Chris Rock at the Oscars on her talk show, Red Table Talk.
On Wednesday, April 20th, Jada Pinkett Smith returned for season five of her Red Table Talk with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, also known as Grammy, and daughter Willow Smith.

Janelle Monae, an American musician, appeared as a guest on the opening episode of season five. The first episode began with a message about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on the Oscars red carpet on March 27.
The comedian made a G.I Jane joke about Jada’s bald head and Will walked up on stage and slapped him. Will then screamed “keep my wife’s name out your f****** mouth.”
Will has resigned from the academy since then, but Chris has yet to make a public statement. Jada, on the other hand, believed the Bad Boys star reacted inappropriately.
“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing,” a title card stated at the beginning of the episode.
The statement from Jada said that they may share some of the discoveries of their healing on the show.
“Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls,” he continued.
“Until then the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest,” he added.
