According to sources, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Peter Shalulile has already gotten interests from other African clubs as well as European clubs.

The former Highlands Park striker is on track to win the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot, while Collins Mbesuma’s all-time 25-goal record remains a real possibility.

Further reports however suggest that the offers the club have currently received from Europe are from less fancied leagues and would not be a step forward in Shalulile’s career.

“There have been a few offers for Peter Shalulile, some coming from rivals on the African continent but most of these offers are from abroad.” an insider told Citizen.

“But none of them are enticing enough for Mamelodi Sundowns to consider selling Shalulile because what is the point for him to leave and go play in Scandinavia? If money is the problem, that can be easily sorted out,”

“This guy I think is charged by Duracell,” Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rhulani Mokwena said regarding Peter Shalulile in the past as quoted by IOL.

“The reality is Peter Shalulile is a team player where he sacrifices and puts his body on the line for the team.

“He knows that as it’s what we said to him. We said as long as you are at the service of Mamelodi Sundowns, everything else will fall into place.

“We know that it’s not just in relation to goals and assists, but there is a lot more to Peter, as the movement to create space, to pull out defenders.

“The high press and the schemes sometimes are a little bit complicated and different but Peter Shalulile gives us that.”

The Namibian marksman already has 27 goals and six assists for Mamelodi Sundowns in all competitions this season. He’s been pivotal for the Brazilians both domestically as well as in the CAF Champions League.
