CBS mistakenly confuses Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife with Taylor Swift during Thanksgiving game in Dallas

Thursday’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys had fans talking for more than just the game.

During a first-quarter touchdown by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, CBS’s broadcast created a brief but hilarious moment of confusion.

Viewers were left wondering if the network had accidentally shown Taylor Swift instead of Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes.

Kelce’s Touchdown Sparks the Confusion

Kelce scored on a two-yard pass from Mahomes, giving the Chiefs a 14-7 lead.

The cameras quickly cut to a VIP suite to show Brittany Mahomes celebrating with her kids.

But the clip lasted only a fraction of a second, leaving fans scratching their heads.

Many assumed the network had intended to show Swift, who is famously close to Kelce, even though she wasn’t at the game.

One fan summed it up perfectly on Twitter: “They thought they was showing Taylor Swift at the game and saw it was Patrick Mahomes’ wife, they switched that camera so quick.”

Another joked that the producer must have been disappointed to find Brittany instead of the pop star.

Swift Was a No-Show

For the record, Kelce’s fiancée hasn’t attended a Chiefs road game in over a year, aside from Super Bowl appearances.

So despite the brief confusion on national TV, Swift wasn’t in Dallas on Thanksgiving, leaving fans to settle for the real MVP in the suite: Brittany Mahomes.

A Tough Day on the Field for the Chiefs

The game itself didn’t go as well for Kansas City.

The Chiefs fell 31-28 to the Cowboys in a narrow and frustrating loss.

That defeat leaves the reigning Super Bowl runners-up with a 6-6 record and a steep climb ahead if they hope to reach the playoffs.

The Road Ahead for Kansas City

The Chiefs still have five games left this season, each critical for their postseason hopes.

Next Sunday, they return to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Houston Texans, followed by an AFC West clash with the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14.

Then comes a trip to Nashville on December 21 to take on the Tennessee Titans, who currently sit at the bottom of the league standings.

Kansas City closes out the season at home against the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day before facing the struggling Las Vegas Raiders in their final matchup.

Kelce, Mahomes, and the Pressure to Perform

With playoff chances hanging in the balance, all eyes are on Mahomes and Kelce to lead the team through a demanding schedule.

And while the Taylor Swift camera confusion provided a moment of levity, Chiefs fans are hoping for a lot more excitement — and wins — in the coming weeks.
