Today, a man was shot and died outside a Durban hardware store. During the incident, a passenger was also hurt.
According to Shawn Herbst of Netcare911, the shooting occurred outside a hardware store along the R620 in Margate.
“An unknown number of gunmen opened fire on an adult male and adult female sitting in a car in the parking lot, according to reports,” Herbst said.
When the paramedics arrived at the scene they found that the man, who was driving the car, had sustained multiple gunshots wounds, which proved fatal. He was declared dead at the scene.
The woman passenger survived the ordeal but sustained a minor graze to her left leg. She was treated at the scene.
Herbst said the woman declined ambulance transportation to a hospital.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating the incident.
