Just when Teddi Mellencamp thought things couldn’t get more overwhelming, another frightening twist entered her life—this time at home.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who’s been publicly fighting stage four cancer, is now dealing with an attempted break-in at her Los Angeles property.

Attempted Burglary at Encino Home

On Monday, two unidentified individuals tried to break into the Encino home that Teddi shares with her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave.

Thankfully, the property’s security system kicked in immediately, and everyone inside was alerted before anything escalated.

According to TMZ, no one was hurt, but it was a tense situation.

By the time police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already taken off.

Law enforcement believes the attempted burglary was connected to another break-in that had just occurred at a neighboring house.

A History of Luxury and High-Profile Living

Teddi’s current home isn’t just any house—it’s a stunning 8,550-square-foot estate she purchased back in 2020 for $6.5 million.

Listed through Mauricio Umansky’s agency, the property boasts seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a home theater, a basketball court, and a host of other high-end features.

It’s a big shift from her previous home in the Hollywood Hills, which she bought in 2018 for $4.07 million.

The Encino property, while farther from Beverly Hills, reflects a different chapter of life—though clearly not one without its challenges.

Her Ongoing Cancer Journey

The attempted break-in comes while Teddi continues her battle with stage four melanoma.

She was first diagnosed in 2022, and earlier this year revealed that the cancer had spread to both her lungs and brain—a progression her doctors didn’t catch right away.

Since then, she’s undergone multiple treatments, including surgery, radiation, and immunotherapy.

Through it all, she’s remained open with fans about her journey, both the physical toll and the emotional weight it brings.

Speaking Out on Early Detection and Health Advocacy

In a candid conversation with fellow RHOBH alum Kyle Richards for Glamour, Teddi opened up about how she never thought to push for scans that might have caught the spread of her cancer earlier.

“You just assume the doctors are catching everything,” she admitted.

“But I’ve learned there’s a difference between being a hypochondriac and being an advocate for your own health.”

Teddi also spoke about the importance of preparing for the unexpected.

“Don’t wait until you’re sick to plan for life insurance or have hard conversations with your family,” she advised. “You never know what’s coming.”

Trusting Her Gut After Ignoring Warning Signs

Looking back, Teddi says she often brushed off symptoms.

“I thought I had migraines, maybe it was menopause—I self-diagnosed myself with everything but what it really was,” she shared.

Her message to others: trust your instincts and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

A Breakup and a New Chapter

On top of her health struggles, Teddi recently ended her relationship with Ricci Rea.

She explained that going through such an intense health crisis simply left her without the energy to invest in a romantic relationship.

However, not long after, she was seen getting close with a new man—something she later confirmed publicly, suggesting she’s still open to companionship when it feels right.

Edwin Arroyave Remains Supportive Despite Divorce

Even amid divorce proceedings, Teddi and her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave have been navigating this difficult time with some level of unity.

Though their romantic relationship is ending, Edwin has continued to be a presence and support system during her treatment.v
