Molly-Mae Hague breaks down while describing chaotic £86k motorhome trip with Tommy Fury and daughter Bambi to the Isle of Man

Not every glamorous getaway turns out to be as dreamy as it looks online—and for Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, their recent attempt at a “down-to-earth” family holiday proved exactly that.

Determined to give their daughter Bambi a more grounded travel experience, the couple traded five-star hotels for life on the road in a luxury motorhome.

But what started as an adventurous idea quickly spiraled into a stressful saga that left them both frazzled and second-guessing their decision.

Swapping Luxury for Simplicity

The motivation behind the motorhome adventure was simple—Tommy wanted their two-year-old daughter to experience a more “normal” kind of family vacation.

Rather than pampering her with first-class flights and lavish resorts, he thought a camping-style road trip would be healthier and more character-building.

So, Tommy went ahead and splurged on an Elddis Avalon 255 motorhome worth nearly £87,000.

It was meant to be the start of many wholesome, back-to-basics family getaways.

And for their first trip, they decided to hit the road to the Isle of Man, where Tommy’s family was already spending the weekend.

A Last-Minute Decision Turns Chaotic

Molly-Mae explained in her latest YouTube vlog that the decision to go was incredibly impulsive—they booked the ferry just an hour before departure.

“We’d never even used the motorhome before,” she admitted.

“We had to pack it, sort out Bambi, and get on the road… it was very much a YOLO moment.”

The spontaneity might have sounded fun in theory, but it didn’t take long for reality to bite.

Travel delays, overtired toddler meltdowns, and unfamiliar surroundings turned what should have been a peaceful trip into chaos.

Their ferry was delayed by two hours due to a mechanical issue, and they didn’t arrive until nearly 2am—way past Bambi’s 7pm bedtime.

Toddler Tantrums and Parental Panic

Trying to juggle travel stress with a screaming toddler proved too much.

Molly-Mae recalled how strangers were coming over on the ferry to ask if they needed help as Bambi cried non-stop for nearly four hours.

“She was so overstimulated and overtired,” Molly-Mae said.

“Bambi is just not a flexible kid—her routine is everything.”

Things didn’t improve once they arrived at their campsite.

Exhausted and disoriented, they struggled to figure out where to park, how to set up, and even how to turn the sofa into a bed. Molly-Mae said she felt completely “out of her depth.”

By the next morning, Bambi was still miserable, and both parents were hitting their breaking point.

“Me and Tommy just looked at each other like, ‘What were we thinking?’” she confessed.

“I was honestly having a breakdown.”

Tommy’s Sudden Change of Heart

For someone who had just spent nearly £87k on a new motorhome, Tommy’s reaction the following day was pretty extreme.

“He literally said, ‘I’m selling it. The minute we get home, I’m putting it up for sale. I hate this thing,’” Molly-Mae shared. Even she had to laugh at how quickly the dream had soured.

But to be fair, she added that the motorhome wasn’t the real problem—it was just a bad idea to attempt such an intense trip with no preparation or prior experience.

“It wasn’t even the motorhome’s fault,” she admitted. “We just weren’t ready.”

Sticking It Out with Tyson and Paris

Things finally took a turn for the better when they met up with Tyson Fury and his wife Paris later in the trip.

Just as they were seriously considering hopping on the next ferry home, connecting with family gave them the motivation to stay.

“We were ready to give up,” Molly-Mae admitted.

“But once we were with them, we decided to stick it out and try to enjoy it.”

Tommy’s Perspective on Parenting and Privilege

The motorhome saga ties into Tommy’s broader views on parenting, which he discussed in a recent podcast appearance.

Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Beast, he reflected on how hard it is to strike a balance between giving your kids the best and not spoiling them.

“Bambi is everything to me,” he said.

“But I want her to understand what’s normal. I didn’t fly until I was 17—and now she’s only two and has more air miles than I ever did.”

His goal, he said, was to help Bambi appreciate life’s simple joys: a family road trip, nature, and being together—not just luxury resorts and private flights.

Meanwhile, Zoe Hague’s Bali Backlash

Molly-Mae isn’t the only one in the family getting heat over travel choices.

Her sister, fitness influencer Zoe Hague, recently faced major online backlash after cutting her Bali vacation short—just 48 hours in—because she didn’t like it.

Zoe and her husband Danny had gone to Bali to celebrate their anniversary, staying in a fancy sea-view suite at the five-star Radisson Blu.

But after arriving, Zoe said the reality didn’t match the social media hype.

They quickly changed plans and flew to Dubai instead, where they felt more comfortable.

Bali Isn’t for Everyone, Apparently

In a YouTube video, Zoe said they were disappointed by how Bali looked in real life compared to what influencers make it seem online.

Despite her previous travels across Southeast Asia, she found something “off” about the island and admitted it just didn’t suit their taste.

“I did loads of research,” she said.

“But something wasn’t quite right—it just didn’t feel like the place for us.”

Her husband Danny added that they simply wanted a relaxing holiday and felt Bali wasn’t the right vibe.

Mixed Reactions from Fans

The internet didn’t take Zoe’s comments lightly.

Many users defended Bali, calling it a beautiful place full of culture and charm, while others agreed with her sentiments about the “Instagram vs. reality” issue.

Some fans called it a waste to leave so soon, while others appreciated her honesty.

“Bali isn’t for everyone,” one commenter said.

“Why spend time and money somewhere you’re not enjoying?”

Shortly after the switch, Zoe posted glamorous photos from their new hotel in Dubai—Atlantis The Royal—where rooms start at around £290 per night in low season.

She praised the experience and said it was perfect for their anniversary, especially with off-season discounts.

Influencer Travel in the Spotlight

Between Molly-Mae’s chaotic motorhome adventure and Zoe’s early Bali exit, the Hague sisters are learning that not every trip can be perfect—or even enjoyable.

And while their followers may admire the glossy photos and polished vlogs, the behind-the-scenes reality often paints a much messier picture.

Whether it’s toddler tantrums on delayed ferries or high expectations dashed by real-world experiences, both stories serve as a reminder that travel, even for influencers, isn’t always glamorous.
