Strictly fans found themselves scratching their heads on Monday night after Vicky Pattison and her pro partner, Kai Widdrington, were nowhere to be seen on It Takes Two.
Normally, the most recently eliminated pair pop up on the Monday episode to chat about their exit, but this time their seats were empty — and viewers instantly noticed.
Host Fleur East addressed it quickly, explaining that Vicky and Kai “can’t be with us tonight but will be joining us later on in the week.”
But the clarification only made fans more curious, and of course, the questions poured in online.
Fans Go Searching for Answers
The moment the show ended, viewers rushed to X asking why this week’s eliminated duo hadn’t made their usual appearance.
Comments ranged from concerned to downright confused:
-
“No Vicky & Kai on It Takes Two tonight, hope things are ok.”
-
“Where are Vicky and Kai? Very unusual for Monday.”
-
“I genuinely don’t remember this ever happening before.”
A spokesperson for Vicky later confirmed she will be on the show — just a bit later, appearing on the Wednesday episode instead.
And to be fair, Vicky did spend her weekend celebrating her birthday, sharing clips of a posh night out on Sunday.
Still, the timing had fans wondering what caused the schedule shuffle.
The Elimination Everyone Was Talking About
Vicky’s departure itself had already made waves.
Her exit — which leaked online before the results show aired — was called by many viewers “the most shocking elimination yet.”
She and Kai landed in the bottom two against EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal and her partner Julian Caillon.
Once both couples danced again, the judges all opted to save Balvinder.
Craig Revel Horwood, who had the casting vote this week, said he would have chosen Balvinder as well.
Even though both couples were at the bottom of the leaderboard, fans were still left stunned by the result.
Vicky Says Her Goodbyes With Heartfelt Words
Moments after learning her Strictly journey had ended, Vicky opened up emotionally to Tess Daly:
“It’s been so lovely while it lasted,” she said.
“I knew this week was a tough one for me and I gave it everything. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d even get past week one.”
Turning to Kai, she added, “You’ve been the best partner a girl could ask for.
I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool, but I feel like I’ve won just getting you as my partner.”
Kai’s response was just as warm.
He told her, “You are everything this series is about — strong, confident, independent. I’ve loved every second. I’m gutted I’m not going to Blackpool with you, but you’ll be part of Strictly history forever.”
A Show That Can’t Escape Spoilers
As always, the Sunday results show was pre-recorded.
And as always, the secret didn’t stay safe for long.
This time, though, spoilers hit the internet while cameras were still rolling.
A show insider told The Sun that the leaks are becoming a huge headache, calling it a “whodunnit mystery gripping the set.”
With Blackpool Week just days away, the leak hit even harder — fans felt the suspense was robbed from one of the show’s most exciting moments.
Viewers React: Shock, Anger and Plenty of Opinions
In true Strictly fashion, social media practically exploded once the leaked result spread.
Comments ranged from stunned disbelief to full-blown outrage. Some highlights:
-
“I wasn’t expecting that at all. I need a lie down.”
-
“I honestly thought the eliminated person was a finalist.”
-
“First time this series I’m actually stunned by the decision.”
-
“Wrong person went home — I’m fuming.”
Many insisted the judges made the wrong call, saying the celeb who left “shouldn’t have been anywhere near the bottom.”
Others said they were “devastated” and “gutted” to lose one of their favourites right before the big Blackpool milestone.
