Stefon Diggs files defamation lawsuit against social media influencer in the United States after false accusations go viral

NFL star Stefon Diggs has taken legal action against a social media influencer who accused him of drugging, sexually assaulting, and even plotting to kill him.

The New England Patriots wide receiver, who just welcomed a son with rapper Cardi B last week, filed a defamation lawsuit against Christopher Blake Griffith on October 1, branding the claims as completely false.

Allegations Made Public on Social Media

Griffith, who calls himself an aspiring influencer, shared a screenshot of an incident report he filed with the Montgomery County Police Department detailing his accusations.

He also posted it to his 99,000 Instagram followers, tagging the NFL, the Patriots, and UGGs, which has a partnership with Diggs.

According to Griffith, the alleged incident occurred at Diggs’ Maryland home in May 2023.

He claimed Diggs drugged and sexually assaulted him, and later conspired to have him killed to keep personal secrets hidden.

Diggs Denies the Claims

Diggs has denied every allegation, calling the accusations “fabricated” and aimed at gaining online attention.

He said the night in question involved a charity basketball event in Washington, DC, after which he, Griffith, and other influencers went to a local club.

Upon returning to his home, Diggs says he went straight to his bedroom while his assistant asked Griffith to leave.

The lawsuit seeks damages and attorney fees, though the amount has not been disclosed.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for July 2026.

Legal Counterpoints

Griffith’s lawyer, Jake Lebowitz, pushed back, saying: “Mr. Griffith is looking forward to showing the world in Court that regardless of the fairy tale fabricated by Mr. Diggs’ high-priced New York lawyers, he is the victim of Mr. Diggs’ unwanted sexual advances and his brother’s violent attacks.

Counterclaims for sexual battery will be filed shortly.”

Diggs’ Growing Family

Amid the legal drama, Diggs has been busy with family life.

Last week, he was present for the birth of his son with Cardi B, his second child with the rapper.

He is also father to an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and recently confirmed paternity of a baby girl born in April to Instagram model Aileen Lopera, known as Lord Gisselle.

Custody and Co-Parenting Plans

Now that paternity has been legally established for Charliee, Diggs hopes to share joint legal and physical custody.

Lopera’s lawyer, Tamar Arminak, emphasized a cooperative approach for the child’s best interests.

A Busy and Controversial Year for the NFL Star

For Diggs, 2025 has been eventful both on and off the field: juggling family life, a growing media presence, and now a high-profile legal battle.

The lawsuit marks another chapter in what has already been a turbulent year, with public scrutiny over paternity, parenthood, and serious allegations threatening to overshadow his professional achievements.
