You know those red carpet moments where everything is picture-perfect—until it’s not?

That’s exactly what happened to Olympic skiing legend Lindsey Vonn during her recent appearance at the ESPY Awards in Hollywood.

Dressed to impress in a bold, maroon Grecian-style gown, Vonn had a little mishap that turned heads for all the unexpected reasons.

When Fashion Meets a Gust of Wind

As Lindsey made her entrance at the Dolby Theatre, her elegant strapless dress—complete with a dramatic slit up one leg—caught an ill-timed gust of wind.

Unfortunately, the breeze managed to lift the dress just enough to expose her underwear.

It was one of those blink-and-you-miss-it moments, but cameras were quick to capture it.

Clearly caught off guard, Vonn looked visibly startled as someone nearby rushed over to help her regain control of the dress.

Thankfully, she handled it like a pro—laughing the whole thing off before heading inside for the show.

A Quick Change and Onstage Glam

Later that night, Vonn opted for a wardrobe change—and it was a showstopper.

Swapping the maroon gown for a silver, shimmery beaded fringe dress, she looked radiant as she stepped on stage.

At one point, she was even spotted sharing a smile and posing with fellow Olympian Simone Biles.

A Legend On and Off the Slopes

At 40 years old, Lindsey Vonn is still turning heads—not just with her fashion but with her incredible athletic comebacks.

A gold medalist in downhill skiing from the 2010 Vancouver Olympics (plus bronze in the Super-G that same year), she also claimed another bronze in the downhill at the 2018 Games.

Beyond the Olympics, she’s stacked up an impressive eight world championship medals, including two golds.

Most thought she’d hung up her skis for good when she retired in 2019—but Lindsey had other plans.

Making History Again in Her 40s

In a stunning return to competitive skiing this season, Vonn proved she’s still got it.

She clinched a second-place finish in the Super-G at this year’s World Cup, making her the oldest female Alpine skier to reach the podium by nearly six years.

It was her first podium finish since March 2018, and the emotions were overwhelming.

Speaking after the race, she said, “Sometimes when you know the only option is to perform, it brings the best out of me.

I used every last ounce of energy that I had, and I tried to put everything together. It kind of felt, honestly, like the Olympics.”

Eyes Set on Milan-Cortina 2026

While she hasn’t confirmed whether she’s aiming for the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Vonn is clearly still in the mix.

She’s planning to head back to Europe soon for more equipment testing and preparation.

Whether or not she officially returns to Olympic competition, her presence in the sport remains undeniable.

And as for that red carpet moment? Just another reminder that even legends have human moments—and laugh them off with grace.
