In a week already filled with political drama, Megyn Kelly has thrown gasoline on the fire with a bold new theory that’s shaking up the conservative movement.
On her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, the former Fox News anchor didn’t outright accuse Donald Trump of wrongdoing—but she did suggest he might be turning a blind eye to a potential Epstein cover-up.
And that, for many conservatives, is hitting a nerve.
From Supporter to Skeptic: Kelly’s Shift on Trump
Megyn Kelly has long been seen as a voice sympathetic to Trump, but her tone shifted noticeably in this latest episode.
While speaking with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, Kelly raised eyebrows—literally and figuratively—by questioning the Trump administration’s apparent silence around the long-promised release of the Epstein files.
“There’s something there, and it’s being covered up,” she said. “And the president blessed it.”
Even Shapiro looked stunned at that.
The Unfulfilled Promise of the Epstein Files
Conservative figures like Laura Loomer, Steve Bannon, and even Elon Musk have accused the Trump-led DOJ and FBI of hiding the truth about Jeffrey Epstein’s powerful connections.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel—both known for their MAGA loyalty—once vowed that bombshell documents would be revealed.
Now? The DOJ insists there’s “nothing more to release,” denying the existence of a “client list” and officially closing the case.
But that’s not sitting well with a growing number of Trump supporters who feel let down.
Internal Tensions and The Bongino Factor
Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and Trump ally, was reportedly so upset over the Epstein file situation that he considered resigning.
Kelly confirmed she’d heard the same from her own sources and claimed things “softened” once Trump personally got involved.
She also accused Pam Bondi of playing political hardball behind the scenes—possibly leaking damaging stories about Bongino to discredit him.
The “Minute Before Midnight” and The Missing Tapes
Another hot topic Kelly highlighted was the mysterious redacted footage near Epstein’s jail cell—the so-called “minute before midnight” that’s missing from surveillance tapes.
According to her, Bongino may have missed that crucial detail early on, and now he’s scrambling to look tougher than he was.
That gap in surveillance footage is fueling a wave of new conspiracy theories.
Was something deliberately left out? Kelly doesn’t say yes—but she’s not ruling it out either.
Kelly Calls Out Bondi for Overpromising
Kelly suggested Bondi, once praised as the truth-teller of MAGA world on the Epstein issue, may have gotten in over her head.
“Either she really screwed up,” Kelly said, “and Trump’s just protecting her because she’s loyal… or something is being hidden—and he gave it his stamp of approval.”
She floated a possible “middle ground” theory: maybe there are names in the documents.
Not necessarily guilty of heinous crimes, but potentially embarrassing for the administration or damaging to reputations.
That, she believes, could be enough reason for a quiet cover-up.
Not an Accusation—But a Warning
Throughout the conversation, Kelly emphasized she’s not accusing Trump of being part of Epstein’s crimes.
But she does believe the administration might be concealing evidence to protect certain individuals—including themselves.
“Maybe they don’t think it’s fair to put those men in a position where they have to defend themselves publicly,” she reasoned.
A Plot Twist Involving Biden?
In one of the more jaw-dropping moments of the show, Kelly floated a theory that the Biden DOJ may have deliberately set a trap—leaving the Epstein materials in a way that might mislead the public into blaming Trump.
“This might be total bulls***,” she admitted, “but I’ve heard it from a few people… that it was done as a big middle finger to Trump.
Not that he did anything wrong—just to make him look bad.”
Trump Breaks Silence, Tries to Move On
Over the weekend, Trump made a rare statement on Truth Social, trying to rally his base.
“We’re on one team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening,” he posted.
“Selfish people are trying to hurt it—all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein… Let’s not waste time and energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”
But for Megyn Kelly—and a growing number of conservatives—it’s not that simple.
