With pre-season in full swing and Premier League clubs scrambling to strengthen their squads, Everton are making moves to secure reliable depth between the sticks.

And their next signing looks set to come from a fellow top-flight side.

Mark Travers Set for Everton Switch

Everton are closing in on a deal for Bournemouth’s Mark Travers, with the 26-year-old goalkeeper expected to undergo his medical shortly.

The Toffees are reportedly spending around £4 million, plus some performance-related bonuses, to bring in the Republic of Ireland international.

Bournemouth Clear the Path with £25M Petrovic Deal

The green light for Travers’ departure comes as Bournemouth seal a significant signing of their own.

They’re bringing in Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic for £25 million in a deal expected to be completed on Tuesday.

Once that’s official, Bournemouth will allow Travers to leave for Merseyside.

Travers to Compete With Pickford for Everton Spot

While Jordan Pickford remains Everton’s undisputed number one and a regular starter for England, the club have been on the lookout for a strong back-up.

With Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic both released this summer, there was a clear gap to fill.

Travers, who has already shown he can handle the pressure of Premier League football, fits the bill as a dependable second option.

Moyes Still Chasing Reinforcements

Manager David Moyes is far from done in the transfer market.

After already bringing in striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal, the Everton boss is believed to be pushing for another four to six new faces before the window shuts.

Strengthening depth and adding more competition across the pitch remains his top priority.

Chelsea Set to Loan Penders to Strasbourg

As for Chelsea, the Petrovic exit is also triggering movement on their end.

The club plans to send young goalkeeper Mike Penders out on loan to Strasbourg, allowing him to gain experience while the Blues rework their own goalkeeping setup.
