Katherine Ryan is known for her razor-sharp wit and fearless honesty — and she’s not changing that anytime soon.
The 41-year-old comedian, who recently welcomed her fourth child, has opened up about her plans to get a facelift and possibly try Ozempic, explaining that she wants to be the “most glamorous version” of herself — not for anyone else, but for her fans and for fun.
Owning Her Choices and Staying Honest
Speaking on Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast, Katherine got real about beauty, aging, and confidence.
She said she’s never had plastic surgery on her face before but feels no shame in wanting to try it now.
“I want to have a facelift — people are getting them younger, and I think it’s fun,” she admitted with her signature candor.
“I’ll be totally honest about it, because hiding it wouldn’t feel authentic to me.”
Katherine shared that she’s long been open about her beauty treatments, including breast implants, Botox, and fillers, but explained that pregnancy meant she paused cosmetic work for a while.
“My face has been big and then small, then big again — that’s just what happens when you’ve had babies,” she laughed.
It’s Not About Men — It’s About Feeling Good
One thing Katherine made very clear is that her choices aren’t about pleasing anyone else — least of all men.
“I don’t care what men think,” she declared. “People act like everything women do is for the male gaze.
It’s not! I’m not doing this to be more desirable — I’m doing it because I love the glamour of it.”
She also called out how society tends to judge women harshly for altering their appearance.
“If men can grow beards and get hair transplants without judgment, then why can’t women do what makes them feel good?” she quipped.
The £50,000 Facelift She Gifted Her Mum
Katherine revealed she’d actually gifted her mother, Julie, a facelift for her 65th birthday last year — a gesture she said was both loving and empowering.
“My mum was born in 1960, when beauty was seen as a woman’s main value,” she explained.
“So aging can be really hard for that generation. It’s not about vanity — it’s about looking in the mirror and recognizing yourself again.”
She said the procedure helped her mother feel like “herself” after years of change.
“It’s not about trying to impress anyone,” Katherine said. “It’s about looking at your reflection and saying, ‘There she is.’”
Aging Ungracefully — And Proud Of It
Katherine isn’t pretending she wants to age gracefully — in fact, she’s said the opposite.
Speaking to Heat magazine earlier this year, she laughed, “I want to age ungracefully.
Why not? I loved how Joan Rivers owned it. I’ll do what feels right for me.”
She’s also realistic about what her body can handle. “At my age, I can’t hold filler like I used to,” she explained.
“A little Botox, sure — but I want to do it in moderation, especially with a baby at home.”
Pushing Back Against Assumptions
Over the years, Katherine’s appearance has often sparked online speculation.
She’s been accused of having “too much filler” — something she says is often just people reacting to normal changes like weight gain or aging.
“People love to compare a photo from twenty years ago and say, ‘What has she done?’” she said.
“I’ll tell you what I’ve done — I’ve lived, I’ve worked, I’ve raised kids. Of course I look different.”
She even joked about the irony of her audience missing her more expressive face.
“Maybe they like the Botox,” she laughed. “I’m robbing them of an experience now because I can’t make the same facial expressions.”
A Message About Confidence and Honesty
For Katherine, being open about cosmetic procedures isn’t about bragging — it’s about honesty and authenticity.
“If I do it, I’ll tell people,” she said. “Not because I’m proud or ashamed, but because women deserve to see someone be real about it.”
Her message is simple: beauty, aging, and self-confidence can all coexist — and she’s happy to prove it, one laugh and one honest conversation at a time.
