Snoop Dogg Expresses Support for LGBTQ Plus Families and Educates Children About Love Across the United States

In a heartfelt discussion this week, Snoop Dogg opened up about his support for the LGBTQ+ community, making it clear that love and inclusivity are central to his message—especially for kids.

This comes just two months after comments he made that sparked debate among fans.

“It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is,” the 53-year-old rapper told GLAAD during a segment for Spirit Day.

Celebrating Families of All Kinds

The Long Beach native shared his enthusiasm for the diverse family structures children are growing up around today.

“I love that kids now can have parents from all walks of life—whether it’s two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is—love is the key,” he explained.

“These kids are being loved by amazing parents who show them what family truly is.”

A Creative Collaboration with Queer Artists

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., joined forces with queer artist Jeremy Beloate, a past collaborator from The Voice, on a new single titled Love Is Love.

The song is featured in Snoop’s animated YouTube kids’ show, Doggyland.

The Young, Wild & Free rapper explained that the track was designed to teach kids about parenthood and help them navigate today’s world in a meaningful, positive way.

Using Music to Spread Understanding

“Through song, dance, and melody, I hope to offer more understanding and clarity on how we live and the way we live,” Snoop said.

He described the music as a bridge, helping children comprehend love and acceptance while enjoying a happy, fulfilling life.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about love—that’s what we’re teachin’ the kids with Love Is Love,” he added.

Partnering with GLAAD for Spirit Day

Snoop Dogg emphasized that his partnership with GLAAD for Spirit Day was natural.

“Spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do,” he said.

“We’re showing the next generation that kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins.”

Beloate echoed the sentiment in a comment on GLAAD’s Instagram, writing, “Love you @snoopdogg… what a beautiful day. Thank you @anthonyramosah @glaad for having us.”

Reflecting on Past Comments

The rapper’s renewed stance comes after a controversial podcast interview in August, where he expressed discomfort explaining LGBTQ+ relationships to his grandchildren while watching the Disney film Lightyear.

“They’re like, ‘She had a baby—with another woman.’

My grandson asked, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!’” Snoop recalled.

“I didn’t come here for this, I just came to watch the movie.”

He admitted at the time that he felt unprepared to answer such questions.

Learning and Growth

Weeks later, Snoop Dogg clarified his earlier remarks, sharing a message of understanding and growth on Instagram after activist Ts Madison addressed the issue.

“I was just caught off-guard and had no answer for my grandsons.

All my gay friends know what’s up—they’ve been calling me with love,” he wrote.

Acknowledging the situation, Snoop added, “My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6-year-old… teach me how to learn. I’m not perfect.”
