Music legend Bruce Springsteen was all smiles as he attended the premiere of his highly anticipated biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere at the BFI London Film Festival on Wednesday.
The 76-year-old rocker seemed in great spirits alongside stars Jeremy Allen White and Stephen Graham, who play key roles in bringing the story of The Boss to the big screen.
A Star-Studded Red Carpet
Springsteen looked effortlessly stylish in a navy suit paired with a black shirt, while Jeremy, 34, donned a classic black suit as he stepped into the role of the young Bruce.
Stephen, 52, matched the formal vibe in an all-black ensemble.
The premiere also saw appearances from co-stars Scott Cooper, Odessa Young, Jeremy Strong, Jon Landau, and several notable guests including Stephen’s wife Hannah Walters, Rob Brydon, Clare Holland, and Bradley Cooper.
Bringing the Story of Nebraska to Life
The film is based on Warren Zanes’ book Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making Of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska (1982), which chronicles the creation of the legendary album.
Scott Cooper, who wrote and directed the biopic, described the project as an “incredibly humbling and thrilling journey.”
“The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me,” Cooper told Variety.
“Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience.”
Filming and Lead Casting
The movie was primarily filmed across New York and New Jersey, with select scenes shot in Los Angeles.
Jeremy Allen White, best known for Shameless, was a top choice to portray Bruce and was confirmed as the lead in April.
In a September 2024 interview with Deadline, he shared his excitement:
“I can say I’ve got a really beautiful team of people helping me, and Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available, which has made this whole process an extra joy,” he said.
Bruce himself spoke about the project in November 2024, noting his enthusiasm: “I’ve seen the scripts and I’ve talked to the director.
They’re just putting it all together, so I don’t have an awful lot to say about it, but I’m excited about it happening.”
Honoring a Legendary Career
Over six decades, Bruce Springsteen has released 21 studio albums and sold over 140 million records worldwide.
His achievements include inductions into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, Kennedy Center Honors in 2009, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016, and the National Medal of Arts in 2023.
Fans will be able to see the story on the big screen when Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere hits theaters on October 24.
