Alec Baldwin found himself in a dramatic moment on the roads of the Hamptons earlier this week, but fortunately walked away unscathed.
The actor, known for his roles on 30 Rock and The Hunt for Red October, shared his version of events after crashing Hilaria Baldwin’s Range Rover into a tree on Monday morning.
A “Whale-Sized” Obstacle Led to the Crash
Baldwin posted an Instagram video explaining what happened. “This morning I was in this car accident.
A guy cut me off in front of a big garbage truck the size of a whale,” he said.
In an attempt to avoid a collision with the truck, Baldwin veered and struck a tree instead.
He reassured fans that he and his brother, Stephen Baldwin, who was in the passenger seat, were both unharmed.
“It crushed my car, my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. It’s all fine. I’m fine and my brother’s fine,” he added.
The crash occurred along Montauk Highway during difficult weather conditions, according to reports.
Police Response and Scene Footage
Photos obtained by TMZ show Baldwin and his brother talking with East Hampton Police officers while inspecting the wrecked vehicle.
Stephen Baldwin, father of Hailey Bieber, was also seen taking photos of the scene.
Among the images was a garbage truck, though the truck’s owner told TMZ that their driver was not at fault in the crash.
Hilaria Baldwin also shared a reassuring video on Instagram, thanking fans for their concern.
“Thank you for caring,” she said with a smile while sitting in a car.
At the time, she was in Los Angeles after being voted off Dancing With the Stars, with Alec planning to join her soon.
Baldwin’s Busy Hamptons Week
Sources told Page Six that Baldwin had spent much of the week in the Hamptons attending films and moderating panels as co-chair of the Hamptons International Film Festival Executive Committee.
Despite the crash, it appears his schedule remained packed with events prior to the accident.

While Alec is the most famous of the Baldwin brothers, Stephen Baldwin is also an actor.
He is best known for his roles in The Usual Suspects (1995), Bio-Dome (1996), and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000).
